"wake up sam. you don't wanna be late for your first day back at school." my mom pushed back my curtains to let light in.

"ahh the light!" i whined. "five more minutes."

"don't make me force you to get up."

"you don't mean?!"

"oh yes i mean." my mom came over and started tickling me.

out of breath i said, "p-please stop. i'm up now."

"that always works." mom laughed. "see you at breakfast sweetie."

i groaned and walked to my closest. what to wear? i thought. i closed my eyes and picked out a random outfit. hopefully it matches i thought opening my eyes. before me were a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a plain black tank top. not bad. i'm getting better at random outfit picking! i added a few accessories to make my outfit better. i tied a flannel around my waist, pulled on a few bracelets, and then lastly pulled on a pair of white high top converse.

downstairs mom was putting a plate of pancakes on the table. "ooh those look delicious mom!" i said sitting at the table and digging in.

"well of course they do! i'm an amazing cook." she laughed and sat down across from me. "you excited for senior year?"

"ehh. i'm gonna try and make it memorable. do something out of the ordinary if you know what i mean."

"that's good for you honey! i'm glad you're gonna do something out of your comfort zone."

my phone then beaped. "liz is here mom. love you. see you tonight." i grabbed my stuff and walked out the front door.

"sammie!" liz yelled leaning againt her car.

"lizzie." i ran up to her.

liz and i have been best friends for as long as i can remember. she's always been for me through all my ups and downs. especially when dad left when i was little.

"oh my gosh. can you believe we're seniors?!" liz said getting into the driver's seat while i got into the passenger seat.

"its crazy! i was actually thinking about us being seniors and thought that we should make this year memorable.
do something different."

"honestly i don't think i wanna change. things are good how they are now."

"fine. i'm gonna make my year memorable."

"how?"

"i don't know yet, but it's gonna be good."

i walked into my first class. all the seats were arranged in groups of three. "class take a seat where you like. i'll be assigning you seats momentarily." mrs. ross, my history teacher, announced. i was sitting with two girls who were in the school choir. i think their names are amy and emma.

"your seats are based off of last name." up front in the left corner near her desk were amy the choir girl, blake a band geek, and luna the student body president. i tuned out because i knew she wouldn't be calling my name for a long while.

"in the middle back section are samantha, luciana, and alexa."
of course i get stuck with luci the class rebel and alex the most popular girl in school. just my luck!

"ugh." luci groaned taking a seat next to me. "why did i even show up today?" she asked rhetorically.

ten minutes before class was over, luci said, "you guys wanna help me pull a prank on mrs. ross?"

i was about to say no, but then i remembered how i wanted to make this year memorable. "what do you have in mind?"

"well basically one of you needs to go sprinkle this into her coffee and by this time tomorrow she won't have a voice. i know it's lame, but its the beginning of the year so why not start small."
