Reset after reset.

Timeline after timeline.

I've watched myself die over forty times. Frisk, the eighth human to fall into the Underground, as killed me- and only me- forty times.

Although, to be honest, I don't really care. As long as they don't touch my brother, I'll let myself die hundreds of times. I've sensed their emotions, though I'm not entirely sure how, since I seem to be the only one that can do that around here. Frisk seems satisfied with killing me and only me, and I'm alright with that.

"APATHY!"

I blink. "Yeah?" I let out a yawn. I can feel my brother's excitement rolling off of him.

"TODAY'S THE DAY! I CAN FEEL IT!" His hands go up in the air.

"I'm sure it is, bro." I say with another yawn. "I'm goin' back to sleep."

"APATHY!" He puts his hands on his hips. "YOU'RE ALWAYS ASLEEP."

"And?" I prop my feet up on the table and put my arms behind my head. "You go do your thing, pal. I'm not going anywhere."

He sighs. "FINE." He runs out of the house with a tiny "nyeh heh heh!". I smile and close my eye sockets.

I shove my hands in my pockets, walking through Snowdin's forest. The emotions of everyone begin to fade, and I sit myself down in the snow.

I've always wondered why I can feel everyone's' emotions, yet no one else can. I've tried asking people. My brother, Undyne, Alphys... No one else seems to be able to sense emotions. And it's weird, because whenever someone feels happy, I can feel that, yet whenever someone feels lazy (like me), it feels like I'm being stabbed in the soul with that emotion. I don't quite understand it.

I lay down on my back and stare at the cavern ceiling. Frisk will find me here in a couple hours and kill me. There's nothing I can do about it, and there's nothing I want to do about it. I close my eyes and fall asleep again.

~~~~~~~~
"My my, what an interesting loop you have there, Apathy."
I open my eyes, but I see nothing. "Who's talking?"
A ragged, skeletal figure appears in front of me. He has multiple scars on his face, and he seems to be... Melting. I can't sense any emotions from him.
"I can help you." He says. His voice is slightly distorted. He holds out a hand, and I narrow my eye sockets at the hole in his palm. "You don't need to be stuck in this loop anymore."
"This loop doesn't really bother me, to be honest." I cross my arms. "As long as Frisk doesn't hurt anyone else, I don't really care."
"But what happens if Frisk gets bored?" He blinks slowly. "They're a human, and you're just a monster. You won't be able to stop them if they start killing others."
I look away. "And how will me leaving solve that?"
"You won't have to watch your loved ones die. And... Maybe Frisk will leave the others alone if you leave."
I think about this for a moment. "Who are you?"
"That's not important. No one remembers me, anyway."
"Where exactly would you be taking me, anyway?" I ask.
"The Multiverse."
"...The what-?"
"The Multiverse." He repeats. "Your world isn't the only one out there. There's more. More people like you."
"...Like me?" I echo. "Wh-"
