After the trial had ended Miss Rosura sprinted out of the courtroom and Y/N went after her to talk with her. Y/N went outside, he could see Miss Rosura, but he saw two butlers who were witnesses on the case too and if Y/N remebered correctly they were her private butlers. So Y/N decided to follow them, the closer Y/N got the clearer he could hear crying. As he went around a corner the two butlers stood Infront of him.
"We cannot let you through sir." The one on the left said
"Our lady needs some time on her own." The one on the right added
"I see... I wanted to talk with Miss Rosura about the verdict and maybe pass on some words of good will." Y/N told them
"Well if it is this important you can still do it later." The one on the left told Y/N
"Meluse, Silver let him through." Miss Rosura stood a few feet behind them, her make Up running due to her crying
The two made space for Y/N to pass through and as Y/N went closer to her he summoned a chalice with water.
"Here drink something." Y/N told her
"W-what is it?" She asked unsure if she could accept it
"Water purified by my ability. Nothing dangerous in any way." Y/N assured her
She carefully took the chalice, Y/N could tell she was hit hard by the betrayal of her godfather. She was careful it seemed like she couldn't trust anyone anymore.
"I have to give you my utmost condolences on what happened. And have to say, that I believe what you say is true." Y/N told her
"Then why...?" Miss Rosura sobbed after putting the chalice down
"Why... what?" Y/N asked softly
"Then why Mister Neuvillette can he walk out a free man!?" She screamed at him
It was obvious that Miss Rosura was in pain. It was obvious that no one could expect rational behavior from someone who had been... Hurt so much.
"I simply cannot do anything else. The rules of the court do not allow me to sentence someone to a crime because I am certain they did it. If I have no solid evidence I have no guilty verdict." Y/N explained
To anyone it was obvious what Miss Rosura needed was comfort... But not by a man she believed to have betrayed her too, not by a man who lacked certain tact in a situation like this. To Y/N's excuse... He rarely interacted with people outside of the courtroom. The only personal meetings he had where with Wriothesley and sometimes Yukichi.
"Mister Neuvillette, you and my father are alike! A heartless exterior! As long as your emotions get in the way of work you don't show any, you are a cold man. They say you are a man of Justice, yet you let a criminal go, knowingly too. I had respect for a man like you, someone who followed their beliefs of Justice so much they made it their work, but now? All I see is an empty husk knowing nothing but cold rational work!" Miss Rosura shouted at him
Y/N was taken aback by her sudden outburst.
"Miss Rosura, I am truly sorry." Y/N told her
"And yet, you say it void of any real emotion, on top you lack real action and hope for my forgiveness?! It seems to me the chief justice is nothing but a fraud!" She went on
Miss Rosura was venting everything she had on Y/N, it wasn't completely fair of her she had to admit, but she just couldn't keep her emotions in anymore.
"I... See.... I am truly sorry that I have dissapointed you this much Miss Rosura." Y/N said his gave tracing to the ground
"I believe it is better you take your leave sir." Silver told Y/N
