I didn't know much about Tom Riddle, other than the fact that he was truly an academic weapon.

I stare in awe at the paper that slughorn had laid on Toms desk. He had aced it.He had aced what was probably one of the hardest tests on potions of the whole year.

"Marvelous as always Tom." Slughorn complimented as he made his way across the classroom handing out everyone's tests.

After only a few seconds I was bouncing my knee anxiously , waiting for him to stop at my desk. Before handing me the paper he folded it gingerly and laid it face down on the table.

Merlin.

I crouch down and slowly peel up the paper to reveal to myself what was probably an "I need to marry rich" score.

A forty.

"Pull it together Calaway." I said and I raise my hand to my face exasperatingly.

"Ok , class is dismissed." Slughorn spoke and soon everyone was rushing to get out of the door including me.

But suddenly I hear a low laugh from the table next to me and quickly turn my head to see the source of the pestering noise.

And sure enough the academic weapon himself was laughig at me.

"Something funny, riddle?" I said quirking my head to the side and putting my hands on my hips to present a strong front as to let him not get to me.

"My apologies , I just find it funny that someone could score that low on potions, especially with you being a ravenclaw and all." He said it in a tone that really spoke 'Your stupid' , and I would be lying if i said it didnt tick me off.

I wasn't stupid. Pretty much everyone around me knew that I was a straight A student and that I took my schoolwork very seriously.

But recently my sleep had been wavering from worry. My parents , who work for the ministry , were sent out around three months ago and had never returned.

The ministry had sent me message after message to get me to shut my mouth , which , if they knew me they would have known sending those letters would serve no purpose whatsoever.

I had no information on thier wherabouts , if they were ok, or if they were dead.

I tried to stray from the idea as much as possible , but late at night , with no schoolwork to distract me , I end up wandering through every gutwrenching scenario.

It hurts more knowing theres nothing I can do.Even if I could do something , the ministry had warned me against it in one of their many useless letters.

I wasnt going to let that deter me from doing everything I could to bring them home.

My mind was wandering , I needed to rein in my focus on the task at hand to solve the problem adequately.

"And I'm surprised that you can utter more than a one syllable word." I retorted.

Yes , I had definitely handled the situation with the upmost maturity. His gaze seemed to darken as he took his paper and walked out of class without saying another word.

He can dish it out but apparently cant take it.

Well, that is certainly not how I expected our first conversation to go.  In fact, I never expected us to have a conversation at all

I pause suddenly , realising what it is I had just done.

I just talked back to Tom riddle. Surely I have a target on my back now.
