Percy's POV
"Whoa wait what exactly do you mean I'm a wizard? Thats....... thats not possible."
The man, Dumbledore, chuckles lightly, "Oh on the contrary young Perseus its entirely possible to be a wizard. Tell me what makes you think that wizards don't exist. "
I frown my eyebrows furrowing together in confusion, I never said that. "I never said it was impossible for wizards to exist. Nothings impossible I guess I just don't think I could be a wizard. I don't think I have any magical abilities."As long as we don't include the powers I have as a demigod but I'm not going to tell them that.
A small smile tugs on the corner of the old man, wizard's, I remind myself, mouth. "Well if you believe that wizards can exist Mr. Jackson."
"Percy, call me Percy, please Professor."
"Okay Percy, as I was saying If you are able to believe that wizards can exist then you have should have no problem believing that you could be a wizard as well, and a powerful one at that."
I narrow my eyes slightly crossing my arms over my chest and stare in to his eyes. I see his blue eyes twinkling and somewhere in there is a large roaring fire of wisdom. Those eyes look at me with such high expectations and hope I can't help but be reminded of Chiron. And just like Chiron I can't help but want to meet his expectations, and achieve those goals he has set out for me. I can't help but want to make him proud. I let out a small sigh my stance relaxing "Ok say I believe you, and I believe that I am a wizard, that still doesn't explain why your here."
"Well Percy," he starts, the bright grin sliding of his face replaced with an old and tired smile, and the twinkling in his eyes dimming, replaced with a sort of forlorn coldness. "A long time ago there was a very powerful wizard. He did things, terrible and evil things for a cause which he believed in. He twisted bias minds to his will urging them to come over to his side. Soon after he gathered many allies he sparked a full blown civil war between the wizarding world. It was chaos and we believed him to be defeated but he returned. We believe that he will go after you next."
I nod taking in the story. So they had gone through a war and now the evil guy is back. "That still doesn't explain why he would want me. I shouldn't matter that I'm a wizard I'm still a kid (kind of) and I want nothing to do with the wizard war or who ever is attacking. I'm sorry but I don't understand why I'm so important to who ever this is."
He sighs looking towards me with pity shinning in his eye. I turn my head away, I've seen enough of those looks. "Perseus the name of this man is Tom Marvolo Riddle and he is the father of your mother, or your grandfather. He wants you for the immense power you posses and he wants you as his heir."
I stare at him in silent shock. My grandfather, is a wizard, and not just a wizard someone who basically started a civil war. I frown slightly I feel a weird sense of Déjà Vu  washing over me.
"That is why it is imperative that you come with me. We need to train you in magic and we hope that with your help we can turn the tides in this war in our favor. If Riddle, or Lord Voldemort as  he prefers to be called gets his way, no one will be safe. The wizarding community will be enslaved, and the muggles, or non magical people, will be hunted, tortured, and killed."
"So Percy I need to know will you accept the offer to come and learn at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and wizardry."
I glance around the apartment. My eyes land on a picture of me and my mom. She was younger in this but she still had that same life and brightness in her eyes as she did now. I walk over towards the picture and pick it up. "My mom, what about her will she be okay, will she be safe if I go with you."
"Your mom does not have any powers which she can access but there is no guarantee that Voldemort will not try and use her to get to you. I may be able to put up wards, or a sort of protection charm to protect her and you if you so decided to stay out of the war brewing in our community. Yet I will have you know that she would be safer if you came with us so you may learn to protect not only yourself but her as well from Voldemort."
I take a deep breath in letting it out slowly and set the picture back down. "I'll go I can't really let you guys leave and go fight a war on your own while knowing I could do something to help. My conscience will hurt me by making me feel guilt. An awful emotion and honestly its really not worth the pain."
Dumbledore chuckles at my (very) terrible attempt at a joke. "Then its settled Percy I shall come and fetch you tomorrow afternoon so be prepared." With that he stands up from the couch stepping away from it and flicking his hand upwards. Slipping out of the sleeve of his robe was a long oak colored stick. He waved it in the air muttering something under his breath. A flash of bright blue light burst from the stick and it spreads around the area seeping in to the walls and floor, and door and everything. Symbols flash around the wall before disappearing as quickly as the appeared.
He turns towards me flashing a bright smile "Now then Percy I will take my leave now."
"Wait Professor Dumbledore, you said my grandfather did somethings for a cause."
                              "Yes."
                              "What was his cause."
"Tell me Mr. Jackson if you had the opportunity to be immortal would you take it no matter the cost."
I look towards the picture my mind immediately flashing to Annabeth, my mom, Paul, and all my friends. I can't imagine living a life, whether an immortal one or not, without them. I turn back towards Dumbledore. "No, I would never take immortality."
He looks toward me in curiosity "And why pray tell is that?"
"Well I guess some people wouldn't mind immortality but to me it just seems pointless. My friends, and my family mean everything to me ad if I had immortality I would be forced to be alone. I'd have to watch my friends and family go on enjoying life, growing up, and eventually wither away and die. I would never want that. Immortality may guarantee that you never grow old, or get sick, or anything else like that but what would be the point without the people I care about. I mean sure you could meet new people along the way but in the end they would disappear just like everyone else. It would basically be an endless cycle with you always ending up alone."
Dumbledore nods along as if he understood exactly what I meant. "Well I believe I understand but what if you were faced with death, would you not wish to continue to live no matter whats at stake."
"No, I think some people are worth dying for and in the end you'll always see them again."
He smiles "Perseus I assure you, no matter what anyone may say you are nothing like your grandfather. I have great confidence in you and I believe you will not disappoint. Thank you for your time but now I must take my leave. Goodbye Perseus Jackson."
He waves his wand and disappears like a wisp of smoke spread out through the wind. I flop down on the couch leaning my head back and staring at the ceiling above. A shimmer of blue and a small symbol flashes on the top of the ceiling. "Well it looks like I'm not going back to Goode this yer, I wonder how mom will react."
I glance down seeing a small envelope at the end of the table. I pick it up ripping it open and pulling out the note inside. Its a letter in big letters across the top are the words Welcome to Hogwarts. I let a small smile tug at the corner of my lips. This will be an interesting year.
FINALLY I'M DONE. I honestly think this is better than the original. What do you guys think. Did you know this is my second time writing this.
