Ch 9: Admit card

8 2 1

Y/N was running as fast as she could because she was..... Late.

It was her first exam......
The subject is mathematics.

She prayed internally to every god she knows.
This exam is one of the most significant one in her life. No matter how much she dislikes studying, no matter how much she hates 'maths' she can't miss the paper.

But luck was not on her side as she bumped into someone and all her belongings scattered on the ground.

The person bent down to help her pick up the scattered items. Y/N bent down as well.

"It's fine. I'll do it," Y/N mumbled audible enough for the person to hear.

"No, no, let me help." He picked up her writing materials, while Y/N picked up her backpack and water bottle.
Both of them stood up. He gave her the pens and pencils. Y/N took them and bowed to him, as a gesture of respect.
He smiled and slightly bowed to her as well.

"I'm sorry. I need to leave. Thank you very much."
She ran away as fast as she could.

He looked at her disappearing figure and then returned to where he was supposed to go. But his eyes caught a card, on the road. He bent down and picked it up scanning it thoroughly. He realized it was an Admit card.
He read the name.

"Lee Y/N," he mumbled to himself and looked back at the route she went.

Y/N stopped in front of the desired room.

"May I come in?"
The invigilator glanced at her and then turned to the wall clock. With her hands behind her back, she turned towards Y/N.

"You are 5 mins late, Ms. Lee."

"I'm sorry ma'am."

"Show me your Admit card."

"Yes ma'am."
Y/N quickly opened her backpack and searched for the card but she couldn't find it. She looked again but failed to locate it. She panicked and searched through her backpack once more.
She inhaled deeply and tried to cool herself down, looking for her admit card slowly and carefully. Yet again, she couldn't find it. Tears were starting to form in her eyes. She looked up at the invigilator.

"I...I can't find it."

"What do you mean?"

"I know I brought it. But it's not inside now."

"Did you open your bag while coming here?"

The invigilator walked towards Y/N to avoid disturbance for the other students.
"A-Actually, I ran into a guy while rushing here. My backpack's zipper is broken. I was supposed to...fix it."

In this case, Y/N is quite lucky because today's invigilator is a good woman.
"I think you dropped it there."

"Ma'am, please let me sit down for the paper."

"It's against the rules
Y/N..." The invigilator glanced at the wall clock again and then back at
Y/N.
"Okay, sit down. But don't tell anyone about it."
Y/N immediately nodded. She walked in with the invigilator as the invigilator handed her the papers and the question. Y/N sat in the chair that was supposed to be hers.
"You won't be given any extra time."

"Okay." She started writing.

*Time Skip*

"30 minutes left students."
Y/N looked at the clock and went back to solving the maths.
