A/N: In this fic, Sasuke learns about the Uchiha Massacre before Itachi died. I really love this trope and wish there were more fics about this. If you guys know some good fics with this trope please let me know.

A CHANGE

Never in her 20 years of life, Sakura thought she would leave Konoha and move to another place. Konoha would always be her home, it was the place where she grew up and met Naruto, Kakashi-sensei, Lady Tsunade, Ino, and Sasuke but it also was a constant reminder of her sadness. She gained and lost many things here. She lost her love Sasuke in this place. She also found her boyfriend in a bed with a girl who used to bully her in her childhood just three days after she lost her parents. Finally, she had moved on from Sasuke and she got hurt all over again.

When she attended Ino and Sai's wedding she realized how lonely she was. Sure, she had Naruto and the rest of her friends but it was not the same as before. Naruto now had Hinata, Ino was with Sai and all of her other friends had coupled up. They had their own family. She felt all alone at the wedding. She was feeling suffocated inside the village. She tried to date again but she had no luck. She got herself busy at work to keep her occupied but how much was that gonna work?

Sakura was suffering inside the village. She just wanted to get out of that place. When she talked to Naruto and Kakashi about that, Kakashi suggested she take a break and go on a mission. But she wanted to move, she didn't want to stay in the village. When she told them that, they protested at first but they understood her decision. Kakashi granted her request to leave the village.

Sakura didn't know if this change in her life would later out to be good or not but she felt like a free bird after that. She decided to leave for an island in the east of the land of water called Ryujin Island. It was a pretty developed place. It was also kinda isolated from the rest of the world. They still had trade and military relations with other nations but it was still detached. The island was an independent land and didn't connect itself with other nations. This was the reason that intrigued Sakura.

Her friends had a hard time accepting her decision especially Ino but she was grateful they supported it. After celebrating a big 'goodbye party' by Ino and Naruto she left Konoha and now stepping inside Ryujin she realized this place was a lot more developed than she initially thought. It could be compared to Konoha's new development. There was a lot more to this place than what she found out back in Konoha.

She was out checking out the place and doing some grocery shopping. The market here was big but not as crowded as Konoha. The population of this place wasn't very high and people seemed very close to one another. She was loving the vibe this island had to offer. She stopped at a tomato stall to buy those fresh fruit.

There was a young woman maybe a few years older than her. "These tomatoes look fresh," Sakura commented.

"They are. The young master loves them so we always keep the fresh ones," The lady responded.

"Young master?" Sakura asked.

"I take it you're new here," Sakura nodded her head. "The leaders of this island are two brothers. A few years back some ninjas from the Land of Water attacked our island and our previous leader passed away. They wanted us to be part of their nation but we wanted to remain independent. Thankfully those brothers were here so they helped us defeat them. Since then, we accepted them as our leaders."

"I had no idea about that. Guess I will need to learn a lot about here," Sakura said.

"You will soon," The lady said.
