3rd POV
"Have you seen my brother?" Olivia asked Ava as she pointed in the corner to a sulking Oliver "oh...thanks" she smiled before walking over to her pitiful twin "are you mad that your princess couldn't make it" she teased
"shut up Olivia, you don't know what its like since you have Ava" Oliver sniffled as Olivia blushed beet red
"THATS NOT TRUE!" she hit him softly
"so your mad that Ava's here?" Oliver asked
"No i'm not mad at all!" Olivia whined before pausing "at least my favorite person is here while your favorite person is back home" she smiled
"WHY YOU-" Oliver pulled his sleeve up and balled his fist and Olivia did the same
"Why are you guys fighting?" Yuuki and Ava asked walking up to them
"Yuuki?!" Oliver and Olivia shouted in surprise
"BESTIIEE" Olivia hugged her "girl where have you been?"
"Oh its a loooong story" she smiled
"how long?" Ava asked
"IS THAT KOU MUKAMI?!" a girl shouted as all the kids looked up and screamed running towards the door
"Now now kids please calm down" The teacher said as Kou began signing stuff quickly
When Kou finished signing everything he looked at Yuuki and smiled "Bye bye Yuuki, see you in a week!" Kou then left as everyone turned to Yuuki and started attacking her with questions
---
"how is her health?" Yuma asked while his hand was playing with Yui's empty pill bottle before his eyes shifted to the instructions
"Her overall health isn't that bad but we still have to be cautious" Reiji began putting liquids into a cup
"and what are you cooking up now?" Yuma stopped playing with the bottle
"something that will make her a little stronger"
---
Yui was walking around the castle trying to find ways to successfully escape again with Yuuki and thinking of where they were going to stay
"So what the hell is wrong with you?" a pair of hands were on her shoulders "a lot on your mind?" Yui flinched and turned around quickly and saw Yuma
"I-I'm fine actually" she responded before attempting to run off but he grabbed her hand softly
"quit runnin' off" Yuma pulled her towards himself "come with me"
Yui had no choice but to obey as she followed him quietly not knowing where he was taking her
Yui noticed that they had walked into a garden but this garden was much more bigger
As Yui followed Yuma through the expansive garden, she couldn't shake off the feeling of apprehension. Her mind raced with questions, wondering where Yuma was leading her and what his intentions were. The lush greenery surrounded them, casting dappled shadows under the soft sunlight filtering through the leaves.
Finally, they reached a secluded spot hidden amidst the foliage. Yuma turned to face Yui, his expression unreadable as he observed her carefully. "Sit down," he instructed, gesturing to a nearby stone bench.
Yui hesitated for a moment before complying, lowering herself onto the cool surface of the bench. She watched warily as Yuma settled beside her, his presence looming over her like a silent threat.
"Why did you bring me here?" Yui asked, her voice barely above a whisper, betraying her nervousness.
Yuma remained silent for a moment, his gaze piercing through her. "I want to help you," he finally said, his tone surprisingly gentle compared to his usual rough demeanor.
Yui's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Help me? How?"
Yuma leaned closer, his breath brushing against her skin as he spoke. "I know what you've been through. I know the pain you've endured," he murmured, his eyes reflecting a strange mixture of sympathy and determination.
Yui's heart fluttered with a mixture of fear and curiosity. She had never expected such words to come from Yuma, who had always been more prone to aggression than compassion.
"I can make you stronger," Yuma continued, his voice barely above a whisper. "I can give you the power to protect yourself and our child."
Yui's eyes widened in astonishment. The idea of becoming a vampire both terrified and intrigued her. She had heard stories of their immense strength and longevity, but she had also heard of the darkness that lurked within their hearts.
"But... at what cost?" Yui asked, her voice trembling with uncertainty.
Yuma's expression softened, his hand reaching out to gently cup her cheek. "The cost is insignificant compared to what you stand to gain," he said earnestly. "Think about it, Yui. You'll never have to fear again. You'll never have to run."
Yui's mind raced with conflicting emotions. The thought of embracing this new life filled her with both hope and dread. But deep down, she knew that she couldn't continue living in fear and weakness.
"Okay," she whispered, her voice barely audible even to her own ears.
A slow smile spread across Yuma's lips, revealing the glint of his sharp fangs. "Good choice," he said, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction.
And as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the garden, Yui made a decision that would change the course of her destiny forever.
.
.
As the evening drew to a close, Yui found herself returning to the imposing castle, her steps heavy with the weight of her decision. Yuma's words echoed in her mind, both reassuring and unsettling her in equal measure. She knew there was no turning back now. She had to do whatever it meant to protect her baby girl, and if being a vampire was it, then she had no choice.
Upon her return, she was greeted by Reiji, who had been anxiously awaiting her arrival. His usual composed demeanor faltered slightly as he noticed the weariness etched into Yui's features.
"Welcome back" Reiji said, his tone tingling with concern. "How are you feeling?"
Yui managed a weak smile, her fatigue palpable. "I'm... I'm okay," she replied, though her voice wavered with exhaustion, trying to get him to somehow go away.
Reiji's brow furrowed in worry as he observed her closely. "You don't look okay," he remarked, his concern deepening.
Yui's smile faltered, her facade crumbling under Reiji's perceptive gaze. "I'm just tired," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Without hesitation, Reiji stepped forward, offering his support. "Come, let's get you to bed," he said gently, guiding her towards her chambers.
As they entered her room, Yui couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards Reiji. Despite his stern exterior and what they did to her in the past, he had always shown her kindness and compassion when she needed it most (sometimes).
Reiji helped Yui settle onto the bed, his touch gentle as he tucked the blankets around her. "Rest now," he said softly, his eyes filled with genuine concern.
Yui nodded, her eyelids heavy with exhaustion. As she drifted off into a fitful sleep, she couldn't shake off the lingering uncertainty that gnawed at her mind. But for now, in the safety of her room and under Reiji's watchful gaze, she allowed herself to succumb to the comforting embrace of sleep.
