Divorcing Mr. A

Prologue

Mia fold the paper that the doctor gave her and lift up her chin to face the nurse, "Nope.." she smiled as if everything was fine, "I am contented.."

The nurse creased her forehead and fet the sadness on her heart as she tries to convince Mia, "Maam.. You don't understand, this could go well if we try.."

She shaked her head and lift up a smile giving the nurse a confident look. 'What else there to do? I'm limited to one year what else can they do?' She thought of.

Mia turn around and gracefully walked away as if she was just there to visit someone. She went back home and looked at the high heeled shoes which she doesn't wear. Another deep breath she make and closed her eyes. "Hey, rosco.." the dog licked her foot and wiggle his tail as he follow Mia walk to the kitchen.

She hid the paper on her back and grabbed a glass of water to drink from the fridge. Her eyes scanned everything inside the fridge and let out a breath, "Just be happy Mia.. You're going to be fine.." she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

'I've always accepted him bringing that woman in here.. I have no more years to live, I want to see him being so happy with someone else and grow a family.. After all, we were just a contract and he was not really into me..' she looked at the ceiling trying to control her tears she grab her bag.

A woman came down fixing her dress and didn't bother to greet her. She just left like no one was in the house. Then Mia's eyes scanned Adonis coming out of the stairs fixing his shirt. He glanced at her then back to the door, "What time did you get back?"

She smiled, "Just now.."

It was quiet in the room and all they could hear is their breathing. Adonis looked at her and creased his forehead as his eyes were stuck in her arm, "Blood test?"

"Huh?" She looked at her arm and cover it giving him a little laugh, "Uhm yeah, I need it, I recently got a job.."

He walked pass by her to grab a glass of water also and drink. Standing beside her Mia can smell the perfume of a woman on his. She looked down and take a deep breath trying to control her heartache. She gave a bitter smile and look at him, "Hey I-"

"We need to divorce.."

At that moment Mia was froze and couldn't say a word towards him. She looked at him up and down while leaning on the counter, "The contract doesn't end in two years.."

He looked down and put a folder in front of her, "Tell me how much you want.. and I'll give it to you.. Just sign that when you're ready.."

"I-" she looked at the folder and holding her tears, "Adonis I thought we wait?"

"You don't want to divorce?"

She grabbed the folder and stare at it for a second. 'Its better to let go of him, i've been a burden to his life for a mean time.. He needs to marry for good and create a good family..' her thought gives her hopeless emotions.

Adonis could see the pain in her eyes, "How much?"

She smirked feeling so disappointed that all he could think is about giving a money to her, "Adonis.." Mia licked her lips and looked up to him, "How long have we been married?"

"A year.." he looked at her up and down.

"I don't need your money Adonis.. If I tell you what I wanted, are you able to give it to me?" She smiled at him.

Adonis creased his forehead and seemed annoyed to what she says. He rolled his eyes and sigh, "What is it?"

Mia was hesitating whether she wanted to say it or just let the divorce and take money. 'I've never been greedy for my life.. but if it only will make me happy for a short time why not?' She thought.

Her face light up with expression and look at him in the eyes, "Spend a month with me like I'm your wife.. Without another woman coming in here.. Just a month Adonis.. I want to experience being treated as a wife.."

"Bullshit, you can experience that with another guy.."

"I want it with you Adonis.." Mia scanned his gentle eyes. He was handsome in any angle that she will definitely miss this man so much she need to take the chance with him. Maybe in after life he'll be perfect for her. If she wasn't sick, she would be begging him to stay right now.

Adonis looked at her and smirked, "Divorce.."

"I know I know.. After a month I will sign it and we could go to court settle it.. Adonis I may sound desperate but please just a month be a real husband to me.. let's date, travel, celebrate.. anything a married couple do.. Please? Just a month.."

He gave her a look, "You're desperate.." then he looked back to the folder and nod his head, "Fine.. A month will work and I want that sign.."

She smiled, "Thank you.."
