Chapter Two - The Lair

I slowly gained consciousness. I feel pins and needles all over my body, and my neck and back feel kinda strained.

Huh. What a weird dream. It felt so real. What in the world could have caused something like that?

I kept my eyes closed for a while until the pins and needles feeling went away.

I felt smooth, tiled floors.

Wha... I don't remember falling asleep in my bathroom...

I focused on the sounds around me. It was a bunch of worried commotion, from voices I recognized, but didn't know.

I open my eyes. I see a big snapping turtle, a medium sized softshell and red-eared slider,  a box turtle, and a teenage girl with beautiful curls that were tied in pigtail-buns. They were all hovering over me and talking anxiously.

I only heard part of their conversation.

Leo: "....And they were just falling! I don't know how!"

Donnie: "Leo, did we really have to bring them to the lair of all places? Our LIVING HEADQUARTERS?"

Leo: "I couldn't just leave them there in the alley! They legit passed out!"

Mikey: "Yeah! They probably needed help anyways. I saw how worried they were."

Raph: "April? Do humans usually act this weird?"

April: "Not any humans I ever encountered."

Oh. I guess it's not a dream. So much has happened that I am not that panicked about this anymore. Although I know that if I think about it too much, I'll probably have a meltdown again.

I look up at them as I am still lying down. They must've noticed that I woke up because they moved out of the way.

I sat up and moved back a little.

I look away and say, "Uhh.. hi.."

Everyone exchanges looks of suspicion and they move back a little. I could notice everyone grips their weapons or at least keep them close by.

I look up at them, feeling a bit awkward. Having a panic attack in front of people you barely know, especially if it's people you idolize, is really embarrassing.

They looked at me with wide eyes, and curiousness. They obviously have a lot of questions, but they either don't know where to start, or they wanna give me a little space.

Leo finally decided to speak up. "How did you start falling out of THIN AIR!?!? Was it a weird sky diving accident or something!?!?!"

I look at everyone and then look away. "See, thats the thing. I don't know."

Everyone looked at me with increasing curiosity. They were listening intently.

I sigh and look down at my hands once again. I closely observe the blocky nature of them. I then clench them and look away.

"Ok, look. I had just come back from school and plopped down on my bed and the next thing you know, I was FALLING OUT OF THE SKY. I-its like there was some sort of portal or something..."

I was shaking right now.

As soon as the word "portal" left my mouth, everyone looked straight at Leo.

I didn't want to pin the blame on Leo, since he probably didn't do it. "I don't think Leo portal-ed me you guys. I-it must've been something else.."

Oh no. I should have kept my big mouth shut.

Leo: "Yeah guys they're right. I swear to pizza supreme that I didn't- HEY WAIT HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT I CAN PORTAL STUFF!?!?!?"

Now everyone is even more suspicious of me. They grabbed their weapons and stepped farther back, into their respective fighting stances.

Donnie: "I do not recall introducing any of us on a first name basis to you. You have a piece of information that none of us have told you."

Though Donnie can talk in a rather monotone nature, I could sense the fear in his voice. On the other hand, everyone else was pretty upfront about how they felt.

April: "HAVE YOU BEEN SPYING ON US?!?!"

Mikey: "WHAT ELSE DO YOU KNOW???"

Raph: "WHO EVEN ARE YOU?!?!"

I slowly stood up and took a few steps back. My eyes widen as I shrink down to the 5 people towering over me.

Crap. They are gonna absolutely WHOOP MY ASS if I don't give them an explanation asap.

But would they even believe my story?

Only one way to find out...
