Chapter Three - A Rather Confusing Explanation

As I cower down, my thoughts race. This is definitely not a good first impression. Oh, I should have planned this out better!

"Wait! Wait- I can explain!"

Nobody moves from their places.

"I-i am not from here."

The group of 5 standing in front of me looks confused. They look curious while still remaining in their respective fighting stances.

"Not like a vacation situation or something... I don't think- no, I KNOW I'm not from here. Where I'm from, I am 3d, my fingers aren't blocky, I-i don't look like this!"

I jumble up my words and my poor attempt at an explanation sounds like the dialogue of someone who is sleep-talking.

"I-i'm from another dimension!...or in a really intricate dream.."

I say that last part in a slightly more hushed tone. Everyone looks even more confused.

Donnie: "Oh. So you're just crazy."

Everybody seems to side with Donnie in this situation. I don't blame them. At least they no longer think I'm a threat to them.

But I still gotta prove this to them.

"W-wait, let me prove it to you! This is probably hard to believe, but in my dimension, you guys are part of a tv show!"

Leo: "I always knew I had a stage ready look!"

Raph: *rolls his eyes at Leo and sighs* "Oh really? Prove it."

I proceed to go into further detail about their lives, Their adventures, their enemies, their allies, their fights and past experiences..

Their eyes grow even wider and wider as they stare at me.

April: "So either you are a really creepy homicidal maniac who has been tracking our every move..,"

Mikey: "Or you are actually for real and legit telling the truth!"

I look at them and ask for understanding in my eyes, and wait for a reaction. I am in an unfamiliar world, and the only people I know are these 5 people (plus Splinter I guess).

I could tell the group was pretty split. As in split, I mean everyone is skeptical except for Mikey, the group heart and optimist, who's the only one that actually believes me.

I guess there is only one way to try and get to their heads. I don't know if it will work though.

"Ok, ok let me try something else... I hope it works.."

They look at me in interest as I grab my phone out of my pocket. I remember leaving it in there before I "fell asleep" back in my dimension. I know it wouldn't have fell out while I was falling because it had a zip on it.

Now heres the hit or miss part. Since this phone is from my dimension, maybe it's still connected to it. I really hope it is.

I unlock my phone, and its still the same password as usual.

So far, so good...

Now I go into my camera role. I pull up a video.

It is the official ROTTMNT theme song with the animation and everything. I thought the animation looked absolutely SICK and the music sounded good too, so I decided to save it so I could watch it whenever I wanted to! My hyper-fixated self 4 months ago will never be aware of how downloading the intro will have helped me in a sticky situation like now.

I know I'm probably breaking the 4th wall (and a lot of other dimensional rules), but this is my only chance.

I pull up the video, turn the screen to the others and click the play button.

The intro music starts..

🎵RIIIIIIISSSSEEEE OF THE....🎵

Oh god it started... Never would I have thought that I would show the theme song of a show to the characters of the same exact show. But here I am.

I nervously watch as their expressions change as each frame of the intro goes by. I don't quite know how I'd explain them, but it was somewhere between a cross between extreme confusion, and extreme awe.

Approximately 40 seconds go by.

I here the iconic finale,

🎵RIIIISSSSEEEE🎵

as the intro music stops playing.

I put my phone back in my pocket and I look up at their faces.

They were in utter shock. Jaws on the floor, eyebrows raised past their foreheads, and palms on the sides of their faces. Their weapons made a loud KLANG as they hit the floor.

They looked more cartoony than they usually do.

"So uh..."

I really hope this worked...

Mikey: "WAIT WHAT YOU ARE ACTUALLY LEGIT I THOUGHT YOU WERE PLAYIN' OR SOMETHING!?!?!?!?"

Ok- well I guess Mikey didn't believe me in the beginning. At least he does now.

Everybody else looked as shocked as Mikey. They were too stunned to speak.

It was hard to tell if it was because I was actually a dimension traveller, or because they figured out they were part of a TV show with millions of fans.

They don't even know that they are part of an even bigger, even more famous franchise, the TMNT, which has many comics and other iterations of the show, and movies.

I probably won't tell them that. They look surprised enough as is.

After getting over their shock (which took a very long time, even after I don't think they got over it completely) they must have hit some sort of realization because they started looking at me with concern and worry. Leo was the first person to say something.

Leo: "Wait, if you are actually a dimension traveller or something, how are you gonna get back?"

They all look at me with concern in their eyes.

I look away. That thought hasn't left my mind ever since I realized I came here. I square my shoulders and stand as straight as a plank, hands by my side and feet together. I clench my blocky hands until my knuckles turn white.

I look away and try to relax my trembling body. I finally look down at my blocky hands once again.

Tears well up in my eyes as I think about my parents, my friends, my siblings, and the life that I could have possibly left behind forever.

Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to come to this dimension, BY MY OWN MEANS.

Coming here with no warning and no solution to get out is not a comforting thought to me.

After a few seconds, I look up at them with a mix of confusion, sadness, dismay, and fear.

"I don't know."
