Chapter 6

        Chapter 6( 1 moon before)

"Hahaha! You will never catch me!" Swallowpaw yowlled from the top of the tree. 'Oh I bet I can' Sandy thought, lashing her tail and jumping at swallowpaw, who doged and left her crashing into the wall "oomph" she sat down and rubbed her nose while watching swallowpaw slide away from her and jump onto the floor. She hissed "its easy on the defense, no fair!" swallowpaw purred in amusement "the clan that attacks-'' Sandy bounced her haunches and prepared to jump on swallowpaw, who was still chattering away, when she jumped she tripped and fell onto swallowpaws face, they both went sliding across the floor and slamming into the wall. "Oomph" "ouch" sandy rubbed her nose, and swallowpaw said "I think we officially have brussed noses and bottoms'' sandy laughed on the floor for a long while, when her twoleg opened the door and walked toward them. Swallowpaw jumped up so she did too. "It's ok, my twoleg won't hurt you." her twoleg leaned down and petted her. She burned with resentment and uneasiness, and was relieved when the twoleg walked upstairs. Swallowpaw looked at her questionly " I thought all kittypets liked being petted and pampered by their twolegs?" Sandy spun around and faced him " Don't call me a kittypet!" she hissed "I didn't choose to live here!" shaking her head she growled " I don't like my pelt to be touched by twolegs as you call them." Swallowpaw looked shocked " sorry i didn't know how you felt about being called that." Sandy didnt respond as she jumped on the windowsill and stared at the setting sun 'I wish I could be as free as the sun. no place locking me out of the wild, and fresh wind in your fur... ' " if only" she whispered "if only what?" swallowpaw asked, jumping up ungracefully beside her. "If only... if only I was as free as the sun... without this cage locking me from my true home... the outdoors...the wild..." she faded off and stared at the beauty of the setting sun. A long moment passed before she said "you must miss it... being out in the wild, with your clanmates. Oh I can almost imagine how it must be in the wild, the danger! The excitement! The comfort in not knowing what lies ahead but knowing... knowing you have friends, family and maybe even a mate beside you... it must be wonderful. You must miss it" Swallowpaw nodded " i do...I do" he choked out. " I can get you out of here you know... but i can only go so far" swallowpaw tilted his head "won't you come with me?" he asked sandy was welling with pain " no... no i can't come with you"she said softly "why not?" swallowpaw asked she stared into his blue eyes "I don't know how to hunt... i will be weak from this lifestyle... i will just be a waste of prey for your clan... i just know it" swallowpaw started to look desperate "I-I can teach you how to hunt! You'll adjust and fit in the clan! Just... just give it some thought... please" Sandy shook her head and let out such a soft sigh she wondered if it was even audible "no I can't go. But you can! In 2 days from now i'll get you out of here in the meanwhile i'll try to teach you as much as i can... direction wise." she told swallowpaw who nodded his head "ok" he said softly "...ok"
