You should have thought the trip as some kind of impromptu holiday, something to soothe your nerve as well as organize your feeling about Jimin.
It was proven to be hard when you got two intimidating men on your tail the whole flight.
Jungkook and Mr. Kim were people you wanted to avoid the most, but the latter was seated just two feet away from you, only separated by the alley. There were four other men on the flight, one of them was Allesandro, Mr. Kim's advisor, and the others were his subordinates. Or bodyguard to be precise, looking at the dark grey suit and muscle they all wore.
This time Jungkook wore a short sleeves shirt that exposed the belt of ink on his right forearm. There was a big ocular tattoo near his right elbow that looked like it was staring back at you. Eventhough he didn't talk to you, you were sure that you were never free from his observant eyes, just like a guard dog to Mr. Kim.
It was a short trip, one that you tried to sleep the time away but failed miserably due to your mind went into overdrive thinking about Jimin.
You tried to distract yourself by flipping on some random movies while stealing glances to Mr. Kim, who was occasionally talking in low voice with Jungkook, hushed murmur in Korean language you didn't understand."Do you want some wine, perhaps? Or champagne?"
His voice startled you from your daydream, you stared at him looking at you with pensive gaze. He'd been in somewhat sour mood since boarded the plane, the more reason for you not to initiate any talk with him.
"I'd love to. Red will be better." It was too early for alcohol, but right now you need something to calm your raging nerve.
He waved to Alessandro to bring two tall glasses to him."So ... have you talk to him yet? I think he will still be in practice when we arrive."
The truth was, Jimin hasn't picked up any of your call, nor that he made any effort to reach to you. But you wouldn't let Mr. Kim to know that, of course.
"I want to give him a surprise. Besides, I don't want to distract him. It will be better to talk in each other's presence."
"You are ... " He accepted the glass from Alessandro and gave the one with crimson color to you.
" -quite optimistic, I can give you that. But you have to know the difference between affectionate and breadcrumbing.""Breadcrumbing? What does that mean?"
"Well, it's pretty obvious the way he treated you. Small random interests here and there, just enough to keep you on his whim, but never goes beyond the physical intimacy. Am I right?"
"You know nothing about us, do not presume things just because you do those to other women."
Although a tiny part of you wondered if that accusation held some truth, but it was no his business, the closer his assumption was to the fact, the more infuriated you were. In your defense, your relationship with Jimin was young, it would need some nurturing.
"I just state the fact. Man like us won't waste time for someone we don't have enough interest on. Why would we, when we have options outside the relationship? You should know better than to fall into this kind of ruse."
"And this advice coming from a man who is desperate enough to marry a girl he knows nothing about, went as far by breaking up with his fiancee of almost two years? It's almost too funny and ironic."
It was supposed to be a petty comeback to trigger him, but he fell into momentary silence instead -not responding, his eyes brooding on the empty blank space.
"You are no stranger for me, Y/N. You've been in my mind constantly since the first time we met. I tried to shut off this feeling, but it's always like my world is losing the light with just the mere thought of the possibility, -there is no reason for my existence anymore."
He shifted in his seat, his tranquil face insinuated his wandering mind and you were like hypnotized. His pretty light brown eyes sent shiver all over your body, a sensation of fright and captivation at the same time.
You never had an admirer before, one that was so intense and beautiful, if this wasn't the second time he told you, you would think he was delusional.
Maybe in a way he indeed was, but he was pretty sane for you, judging by his calm composure. There was lingering uneasiness everytime you were in his presence. Like something was just out of place and you couldn't put your finger on it, but you couldn't exactly say you dislike it either."Like you said, it's most probably just a puppy love. It will pass."
His heavy deep laugh filled the air, somehow masking the whirring sound of the aircraft.
"It's been almost two years, cara. Men my age will know the difference. Besides, you promise to come to me if things don't go well with him."
Somehow the term of endearment felt more like a mockery to you.
"I made no promise, you just assume I did. And he is still my boyfriend. I will talk to him, and we will be fine."He brought the glass to his lips while smiling more like to himself, almost like a ridicule.
"We'll see. Make no mistake, a man like me always hold true to my promise, and I expect the same from people who acquainted to us."
You paid no mind to his words and gazing outside the window, relishing the memories of the time you spent with Jimin. It was only a short period since the first time you met him, but you had never felt this way about a boy before, the feeling of admiration mixed with adoration everytime you set your eyes on him.
It felt like you've known him since forever. You would prove to Mr. Kim that he could be wrong.
He would be dead wrong about Jimin.
