Chapter 27: Wake up, Velver!

After the successful tea party I knew I could get some rest and that 'nap' turned into a long night slumber without me realising.

"Agh...! Ha!"
Deep breaths and panting...

I thought I was imagining it but then I heard it again...

"Uh!" Grinding teeth!

I opened my eyes. I was frightened with that sound nearing my ears. Huh!?
It was Velver!

I felt a sense of relief but why is he groaning?

I looked at his uncomfortable state. His right hand was trying to grab something as if he was searching for something to hold onto...

"Am I dreaming?!" I asked myself but it was too vivid to be a dream.
My eyes were fixed on him looking at him suffering and feeling helpless!
I know we sleep together but...
Why does he not tell me anything about his nightmare?

I was scared he might harm himself when the sound of his grinding teeth became a bit louder!

I thought I should do something but my hands... My hands were shaking. My heart was about to fall out of my chest. I saw him suffer once and it hasn't become easier...!

I reached out my hand to wake him up but my hand didn't reach there I was petrified looking at Velver moaning in pain!

I collected all of my courage and tried calling him "Velver" "Velver"
"please wake up!"
I shook him slightly to get him out of that horrendous dream!

My arms lost all the strength long ago, my legs refused to move an inch and I saw sitting next to him watching him agonizing in his dreams.

His hand stopped moving and he was suddenly quiet. "Vel-ver?" I said in a slightly tense voice.

"Velver?!" I called his name again. He didn't hear me again!
After miserably sitting there and waiting for him to wake up I touched his cheeks with my finger and there was no response. I got a bit bold and checked his forehead! He is warm and sweaty. I thought.
I looked at his expressions which were no longer painful. I moved my fingers again and touched his hair. My hand started moving on its own I went from his hair to his eyes; counting his lashes! His sculpted face! I exhaled. He was made with the best features that could be adorned to make someone special, someone loved! I mumbled.

His lashes moved a bit and he opened his eyes. I moved my hand quickly!

"What?! What is it?" Velver said.

My fingers started with his hair landed on his lips! I started looking the other way.

"What happened, Delphi?"

"Why are you sitting in front of me?"

"I-I"
What should I say? I thought.

"That Velver you know" "I saw you groaning and I was frightened so I tried to wake you up and you didn't wake up....!" I uttered it all in one breath.

"Delphi I can't understand a word you're saying. Calm down and then speak." Velver whispered.

I hope he doesn't realise that my fingers were on his lips! I was just checking his head and I got carried away! I want to dig a hole and hide inside it and then get buried in that hole...!

Velver pulled Delphi closer and embraced her in his arms. "Everything is fine! Please calm down and if you don't want to talk right now you don't have to."

Huh!? There is no distance between us!! I can feel his skin through his thin shirt and his heart beat and warmth! I was breathing calmly trying hoping my pounding heart to become less obvious!
