Well. I don’t know why I’m doing this. It seems pretty… pointless. No one’s going to read a story written by… well… me. I may as well get it over and done with. My name is Xavier Bailey, and this is my life story.
Let’s skip the whole ‘how-my-early-life-was’ and ‘how-I-was-made’ stuff. That’s not important. Well, I say it’s not important – really I can’t remember anything before the age of 10. You see, I was in a car accident, with my parents and my little sister, when I was 10. It wasn’t very big, but it was very fatal. My sister died at the scene. My parents died 4 days after the accident. Well, that’s what I was told when I woke up. I was left in a coma for weeks. I had hit my head hard when the cars collided, and I injured a large part of my brain, which caused me to develop amnesia.
When I finally got let out of the hospital, I was enrolled at the closest foster home for boys – Sobrenal, which was a grand total of 174 miles away from my hometown, Arcaeus. No, my experiences there are not like one of those sob story ones. To be honest, I was the king of that place. For some reason, everyone seemed to be… scared of me. In a way. It’s either that or they had a very strange way of showing respect. Anyway, back to the story. I wasn’t adopted, or fostered by anyone. And staying in the same old place for years on end was boring. I was in there for 4 years, and I couldn’t take anymore. Every minute dragged out to an hour, every year dragging out to an eternity.
So I ran away. It wasn’t anything to worry about. Made me homeless for a while… Well. I was homeless up until they came and found me. I was 15. I’d been on the streets for around 7 months. A group of men came and offered me somewhere to stay. They offered food, water, medical care, and new clothes. They seemed nice enough to me. So I went with them, and my first impressions were correct. I’ve been living with them for 2 years now, helping with their, let’s call them, ‘jobs’. They quickly turned me into one of them.
They’d turned me into an assassin.
