Diana smiled and  gently caresses Elijah's cheek, it was warm, incredibly warm for Elijah, with her delicate hand pale skin and thoose eyes looking at him with adoration, he didn't even notice that he was tightly holding onto diana hand, nuzzling it hoping that he could feel the warmth Emmiting from the woman. Even though Elijah had never spoken a single word, Diana had only heard his voice for a brief second when he regained consciousness—it was like a quiet whisper.

Diana chuckled as she recalled the memory of Elijah calling her a fairy. The day after that, when she arrived, she found Elijah unconscious on the ground. Her heart almost skipped a beat as she witnessed the boy being overtaken by his fever once again. From that moment on, Diana vowed to never leave Elijah's side.

Because he was desperately clutching to the hand that diana reach out, afraid of being abandoned.

On the third day, Elijah woke up, and his fever had completely subsided. It was such a relief to see the boy healthy again, and for some strange reason, Elijah had an incredible healing speed.

As Diana hugged Elijah in a warm embrace, she couldn't help but find it fun to reminisce about these memories. Elijah had never complained or acted like a spoiled brat—he was far too mature for his age, even though he hadn't yet reached adulthood.

Diana cupped his cheeks. The child seemed deep in thought, wearing a solemn expression. Diana wondered what was going through Elijah's mind. She couldn't seem to read the child, but then again, she had only known him for a short period of time.

"Shall we get going now? The sun is about to set," she said, smiling. Diana noticed how the child suddenly brightened up; he must have been eager to get home since earlier.

"You've been such a big help to me today. Thank you for accompanying me," Diana said, expecting only a nod from Elijah. However, in that very moment, she was caught off guard.

"I had fun today," Elijah mumbled, and for the second time, Diana heard him speak.

"I'm glad"

"I'm so glad. "Diana replied, feeling her emotions welling up. She pulled him into a warm embrace once again. Her laughter resonated in Elijah's ears as the boy hugged her back.

"Oh, that's right!" Diana exclaimed. "You haven't given me your name yet."

Suddenly, she felt a pang of dejection. She had been waiting for the moment when Elijah would fully welcome her, when he would become comfortable enough around her to speak. That's when she would ask for his name. Diana knew that there were rare cases where slaves were bestowed with names, so she never tried to name the boy. She understood the significance and worth of having a name, and she didn't have the right to simply replace it. She would do so only when Elijah gave his consent.

"Do you have a name?" she asked.

Elijah paused for a brief moment, then nodded his head.

"Can you tell me?" Diana smiled. Finally, after living with him for over a week, she was asking him his name. Seriously, it was partly his fault for not telling her his name on the first day.
