It had been a few weeks since Tig and Elizabeth had their blowout, and she had been staying at the hotel. They hadn't spoken at all over this time apart, and Elizabeth found herself wondering what he was doing and who he was with. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of her phone. It was a number she didn't recognize and was relieved when she answered it to hear Juice's voice.
"Hey what's up?" She asked.
"You need to come to the clubhouse. I got a hit on your dad."
Before she could respond, Juice hung up which worried Elizabeth.
She arrived to TM in record time and headed straight inside. As she walked in, she heard Tig's voice,"I don't think she needs to know this shit."
"Know what?" Elizabeth asked, startling the two men in the room.
"Why the hell did you tell him why you were here, but you couldn't tell me?" Tig said with obvious anger.
Elizabeth sighed with annoyance,"Juice, what did you find out?" She walked over to the computer he turned towards her.
"Oh my god," she said, covering her mouth as she read. There were hundreds upon hundreds of newspapers referring to the man in the picture she had given Juice. "Killer Finally Caught," "The Murderer has Received Justice." Those were just a few of the headlines. "Elizabeth, I'm sorry," Juice began to say, but she just shook her head as the tears came and she walked outside.
She hadn't realized that Tig had followed her until she stopped walking, and he was in front of her. He knew she didn't need him to say anything just yet, so he remained quiet until she started talking,"I pictured him a thousand times over. I made excuse after excuse for why he was never there for me." She shook her head as the tears kept coming.
"He's in Stockton," Tig told her.
"My mom was right. I should have never came here," she told him as she walked to her truck.
"What are you doing Liz?" Tig asked, fearful for what she was going to say.
"I'm going home, Alex. This is too much for me. My mom needs me. It was stupid for me to come out here," she said.
"Was this shit between us stupid too?" Tig asked her as she shut her car door, and they were talking through her car window.
"I'm sorry, Alex. I truly am," she told him as she pulled away.
