When we reached the grounds, I felt so relieved. I was tired and hungry, and in denial about all my feelings right now. Maybe it's all caused just by my exhaustion.

We dropped off our luggage and we were headed to the Great Hall. I could smell the delicious food even from afar. My stomach grumbled as I did not eat much the whole day except a little sandwich that I ate in the morning at the station.

All students entered the Great Hall and sat down at their respected house tables. I headed to the Ravenclaw table and sat down right next to Samantha, since she was my roommate and she was pretty much the only Ravenclaw girl I talked to few times. Because lot of Ravenclaws were kinda...always showing off, which was not something I liked much about people.

"Now they are going to be sorting the first years, aren't they?" I asked Samantha with a slightly annoyed look as I watched the year's first year students walk in.

"Yeah, we'll have to wait some time till we can leave here," she replied.

I groaned and my stomach grumbled again, loud enough that even she heard it.

"Merlin...Have you eaten nothing today?" Samantha watched me with a little weird look.

"Sort of, yeah," I slumped my head down onto the table, "I had a sandwich at 9 am though."

"Ruth, for goodness sake! It's like 9 pm now!! You should eat normally," she whisper-yelled at me.

"I know. It's just, life is pointless and everything is meaningless, that means that even eating is pointless," I replied in a bit sarcastic tone.

"Well...I can't deny that first part of the statement entirely. But come on, stop these jokes now, I am serious. You gotta eat."

"I know. I just didn't really feel like eating. But I am so hungry and tired right now, I feel like I'll just ignore the ceremony and I will just eat right away."

Samantha just shrugged her shoulders and turned her gaze to the sorting ceremony happening.

My eyes scanned the food in front of me on the table, and I then took a glance at the professors. Noticing that they were all paying attention mostly to the first years being sorted, I took that as my cue and started eating the food, which consisted of baked potatoes with some salad.

While I was munching on my food in peace, I just watched the first years being sorted, while having my chin rested in my palm. I had not payed much attention to the sorting, the sorting hat's constant blabbering and yelling one of the four houses truly was not anything that interesting.

I could sense some students glancing at me with raised eyebrows, because I was not meant to be eating right now, but I honestly couldn't care less about that.

Finally, after like 40 minutes, the sorting ceremony was done and everybody else started eating dinner.

Having already eaten dinner, I just sat there with my face in my hands, while observing the whole room. My gaze wandered to the Slytherin table, and without me realizing it, my eyes were searching for three particular Slytherins. I was able to spot Ominis first, which was quite a relief to know he seemed fairly alright. At least physically. Who knows if he's still talking to Sebastian...

My tired eyes searched for the brown haired boy, for some reason. I can't just forget about him entirely.

Soon enough I laid my eyes on him, but immediately after, I looked away again with a slightly grim expression showing.

A loud immensely irritating voice of our headmaster pulled me back to reality from my thoughts.

"Ahem. WELCOME BACK STUDENTS! THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF CONSIDERATION ABOUT THIS TOPIC, AND THANKS TO YOUR PROFESSORS, ESPECIALLY...PROFESSOR KOGAWA, I ANNOUNCE THAT THIS YEAR, QUIDDITCH IS NOT GETTING CANCELED AGAIN. SO THIS SCHOOL YEAR, QUIDDITCH IS BACK. THE TRAILS START ON THIS FRIDAY."

The whole Great Hall was getting filled with cheers and loud murmur like 'YES' or 'that is amazing!'. That was when I spotted the third Slytherin I was meaning to spot, Imelda. She right away stood up and almost screamed from the overjoyment she got from this news.

Then headmaster black added with almost threatening tone, "But still, during the year, many things can change. I suggest you enjoy it while you can..." He narrowed his eyes slightly before adding, "NOW I AM SURE YOU HAVE THINGS TO DO. GOODNIGHT."

All of us started getting up from our seats and headed back to our common rooms.  Walking through the dim lit corridors and staircases of the castle in groups, up the main staircase and then up the stairs again, because the Ravenclaw tower was high up, and the view was incredible from the windows, but the stairs were the worst part.

A lot of students were running short on breath, because of it (I was one of those students as well). Finally when we reached the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room, our prefect that was leading the whole group, gave the first years instructions on how to enter.

When we settled back in a bit, at the end of the day, I took a shower and changed into my pyjama's, which consisted of a worn oversized shirt that reached half of my thighs, and underwear. Since there were just us girls, it was safe to be dressed like that. Plus, I wouldn't really care anyway, I wanted to feel comfortable.

I entered the room I shared with Samantha and two other girls, whose names I unfortunately forgot. I have always been bad with names, and they clearly did not pay much attention to me or talked to me, so it was easy to forget it, when having more crucial things to remember.

The room was big enough, there were big dark brown wooden closets, in the center of the plank wood floor was one wide navy blue carpet, and by the tall windows there was a pair of bunk beds with clean warm sheets laid on them.

I collapsed down on the soft mattress of my bed and took a long deep inhale, followed by an exhale filled with tiredness. I pulled the sheets over me and turned my face towards the window, gazing out with half opened eyes at the night sky. Watching the stars had always some sort of calming effect on me and gave me that desired feeling of peace and serenity.

My roommates chatted for a little bit longer, while I laid in my bed curled up under the warm cozy sheets, slowly falling asleep.
