When She Was Loved

8 1 2

When she was loved and adorned by all,
Before her short and lonely fall,
She was protected; she was safe.
And to the naked eye, she appeared brave.

But I'm her past were shadows;
Shadows that just wouldn't leave.

Her shadows followed everywhere;
They lingered ever nearer.
When she was with her friends,
They seemed to disappear.

But once her friends were gone,
Her memories were far too strong.

She who once was loved,
Started to hide her face.
The friends whom she once loved,
Left without a trace.

And like all her friends,
Her dignity and grace disappeared.

Like her dignity and grace,
She disappeared.

To the girl who once was loved,
May your shadows be all gone.
I hope you're now in a place,
Where you're loved by everyone.
