"Hey, Fez. Jade's upstairs."

"Thanks, T." Fez was here on business. Some dude made Jade sprain her ankle and he wasn't going to let that slide. "J."

"Go away." Jade was ignoring everyone that wasn't her mom and Royce just to avoid something like this, shoving a pillow over her face when Fez walked in. "I'm naked."

"Nothin I ain't seen before. Who fucked yo ankle up?"

"It doesn't matter. Tellin you ain't fixin it." She rolled over, wincing when she moved her leg too quickly, and got on her phone to watch a video. "Close the door on your way out."

"Why are you bein like this?"

"Stubborn? Because tellin you now ain't fixin my ankle." She muttered again, glancing over her shoulder when he sat on the bed. "And you're crazy. You know it, I know it, Rue knows it. You're literally batshit. You're just really good at hiding it."

"'M not that person no more."

"You rearranged a guys face. I'm pretty sure you don't just grow out of something like that."

"You're really not gon' tell me?"

"No." Fez made himself comfortable on her bed, Jade rolling her eyes and going back on her phone. "Hello?"

"He really fucked your ankle up?" Chris called after Royce informed him of Jade's situation, the teen hanging up quickly.

baby father 👶

fez is here and i do not want
him to know who it was.

why?

because.

"So Chris knows?" Fez grabbed the back of her shirt when she tried to slide out of the bed, keeping her there. "Don't run."

"Technically-"

"Who fucked yo ankle up, J." He turned on his side and grabbed her, pulling her close as she froze. "And don't lie, you do know."

"I just told you I'm not telling you because you're batshit."

"Royce knows, though."

"Of course." He hummed, letting her go and rolling onto his back to pull out his phone.

"I know why you are calling and I cannot tell as I have been sworn to secrecy." Royce immediately said when he answered the phone, grunting something under his breath. "And I'm a bit busy at the moment. But I am going somewhere later."

"Are you fuckin someone?"

"Yes. If that's all, I'll be going now."

"I know he ain't with Maddy." Jade gasped in shock, going over the message Maddy sent her almost an hour ago. "She just said Nate broke up with her!"

"If my phone ring, answer it." Fez mumbled, placing his phone near and cuddling up with a pillow to nap. Jade huffed, resorting to playing games on her phone to pass the time.

"Fez's phone, not Fez speaking."

"Well hello."

"Goodbye." Jade hung up in disgust, tossing his phone back on her bed when it rung again. "Maddy, bitch, explain."

"How your brother just rocked my world? I'm not sure you wanna hear that." Maddy said before laughing when she heard Jade gagging. "I don't know how it happened. Nate broke up with me, I went to the park to think for a bit. Royce was walking by and saw me, took me out for ice cream and stuff. Then he walked me back to my house and I invited him in and...yeah."

"Please don't play with my brother."

"I would never. Plus, I think he put a spell on me. I never let guys sleep over after." Jade gasped and sat up in her bed, glancing over at Fez before grabbing his phone and hobbling out of her room.

"He's still there?!"

"Yeah, he's walking around in a towel because he wanted to wash his clothes. Obviously we didn't plan for any of this to happen. You know he answered the phone in the middle?"

"Yeah, Fez called him. Hold on." She huffed when Fez's phone rang with that same unsaved number, putting it on speaker. "Fez's phone, still not Fez speaking."

"Where is he? He got a fuckin receptionist now?"

"No, I killed him. Any other questions?" Jade made her voice higher in pitch, nails clacking on the stairs to mimic a keyboard while Maddy gasped and laughed. "No? Okay, have a nice day."

"I'll catch you soon, sweetheart."

"Don't think so!"

"Why are you here?" Jade huffed when she opened her door, Fez staring her down quietly. "What?"

"....he fucked yo ankle up. And you ain't wanna tell me?"

"Fez, what the fuck did you do." Jade felt her heart drop, Fez just quietly watching as she pulled her phone out. "What did you do?"

"He not gon touch you again, J."

"He knows better now. He won't touch you again."

"Oh my- no. No no no." Royce sent her to voicemail, Jade looking back at Fez. "No."

"And if he bother you again, just let me know."

"No."

"No?" He cupped her face, smiling a little when she didn't jerk back immediately. "What's wrong, J?"

"What did you do?"

"What I had to."

(Yeah, Nate's getting his ass kicked a LOT in this book)

"Elaborate, Fez." She wasn't scared of him or what she knew he could do. She was scared of the consequences of what he did.

"Don't worry about it. He won't tell." Fez pressed a kiss to her head, Jade catching Royce walking up over his shoulder. "We made sure he wouldn't."

".....my mom's gonna kill you guys."

Tiarra did, in fact, strangle Royce and fight Fez when she found out they beat up Nate. She yelled at them for being stupid, told them that they should've just came to her so she could deal with it.

And I may not know what happened on the day Jade left, but I can guess that it had something to do with Fez's softness towards her now.

"Momma, what did they do to him?" Jade was pacing around the living room, hands on her head as Tiarra quietly sat on the couch.

"He'll be okay, baby. They just roughed him up a bit."

"Royce doesn't know when to stop and neither does Fez."

"....he'll be okay, Jade."
