I stared at his back, as he continued laughing for a few minutes before laying back down. I didn't realize how fast my heart was beating cause of the adrenaline but after recovering from the confession, I could literally hear my heartbeat so loud and clear.
'Earth to Isa, hello!' I got snapped back to reality when Adnan shouted right in front of my face.
'Y..yeah' I looked back at him, only to find him frowning at me.
'You look weird..what's wrong?' He questioned as I let out a small chuckle.
'It's just that..I've never felt this way and don't know why, it scares me already' I laid it out there, open and clear. I was so sure that I would never, ever for once in my life would like a guy, now that I liked this boy and he reciprocated the feelings, I was scared.
'Scared? About what? Getting into a relationship, hmm?' He said as he held onto my hand tightly, giving it a little squeeze.
'No, of course not!! I was not even thinking of a relation gosh Deena was right, you are whipped but forget about that, I meant these feelings, I hate them but I don't completely despise them either, it's..complicated' I stared at the ceiling, focusing on the glow-in-the-dark stars sticked on it.
'Well, I can relate to that, ever since the arcade, my head has been messed up' He ruffled his hair as I diverted my eyes from the ceiling to his face.
'Come on, we just confessed to each other, how can it be so damn normal? It has to be awkward, weird and unusual, right?' One thing I learnt from all the series and movies I've watched, that when you confess the love to the other person, it always either ends up in an awkward moment or with a kiss, the second one was out of the way, so it leaves us with the first option, then why wasn't this awkward and weird, like it's suppose to be.
'How funny, you should be grateful it isn't awkward and weird, but comfortable and okay' He said whilst staring back at me, I bit my lip and looked the other way, when my eyes caught on the speaker on the top of the shelf, an idea clicked as I quickly got up and walked to the shelf. I looked around for a bit before grabbing a small table from around the corner.
'Hey, what you doing? Be careful, you might just fall off' Adnan stated, as he sat up on the bed.
'What does it look like? I'm trying to grab the speake..' As I was speaking to him, my balance got unstable on the table, as I fell on the ground, landing on my butt, hurting my head very badly.
'Watch it, told you to be careful but no, someone's too smart to hear instructions, I guess' He said, rubbing the back of my head as I stared at his face, examining his features carefully, focusing on the frown that made his forehead twitch, which somehow made me laugh.
'You look funny, when you're concerned' I said while laughing as he stared at me with dead eyes.
'You're having fun after falling huh? It's fun to see me concerned, ain't it?' He was worried, I could hear it in his voice.
'Okay, okay! Sorry, sir' I held his other hand while he shook his head before sighing.
'Just a sorry won't do, you have to grab ice cream with me tomorrow and I'm not taking no for an answer' He just said that as if it was no big deal, I stared at him for some time before I heard the door being opened.
'Oh lord, this can't be good' I whispered which was followed by a loud voice.
'What the hell is happening here?!' I don't even have to name the person who shouted.
'Dee, it's not what it looks like, okay' I stood up and gestured her as she looked back and forth from me to Adnan while he stood, holding himself back from laughing.
'Oh, it's definitely what it looks like!' She was so onto something right now, her sister, her only source of entertainment and her only way out of the usual-boring-plain life. And when life was handing her drama in a silver platter, just how could she resist the temptation to grab it at any chance she had.
'Isa, I think I should get going, you two have a whole lot to catch up on and I'm certain, you wouldn't be as comfortable with me, discussing about stuff' Could he be any more obvious? Deena was already god-giftedly smart, she caught the smallest of baits and this was just too huge compared to other things.
'Yeah, exactly! So why don't you cut the chase and sit in the back and let me go ahead with the rest?' Deena was so impatient, she had been dreading this day for years, that was an exaggeration but still, you get the gist.
'Okay, okay' He simply went out and got comfortable on one of the couches, while Deena stared at me with her two big eyes, and I didn't knew what was hidden beneath them.
'So..you're going to spill or I have to get the beans out myself?' She crossed her arms, she was always my go-to person in these matters, and I never kept anything from her.
'I..he..we..' I couldn't find the right pair of words to combine and say that we finally confessed to each other, as simple as it sounds, in that moment I was literally speechless.
'You lost your head or some? Just say it!' Now it was getting to her head, she had been mugging up the whole entire syllabus for the exams and now this.
'We confessed and..that's about it.' How simple does that sound to you? It isn't that hard to put out but when you get to meaning, you'll just know how huge impact a tiny amount of words can hold.
'And?' She knew they confessed, what was killing her was what happened next, and she really hoped that something actually did happen.
'And, nothing, I'm serious nothing happened!' The look Deena gave me, I was legit scared. The stank face was just so scary but hilarious, both at the same time.
