Guilt.

Your head hurts, even your whole body. It has to be the alcohol taking a toll on it since you didn't get that drunk in a while. Well, never to be exact. Venti is quite the bad influence when you go to a bar.

You open your eyes to see a plain white ceiling. You put your hand on your head and you slowly get up from a lying position into a sitting one. "W-where am I?" You look around only to see that you're in a white room with nothing else in there. Even your clothes are completely white. What the hell happened?

"Venti..?" You gently call out, as he is the first name to come to your head. Your voice doesn't even echo. Maybe the room is completely soundproof. You stand up and look around. Maybe there's a way out of here.

It seems like this isn't even a room, it's like a white box. No windows, no doors, just a small white bed and nothing else. You stand in the middle of the room and you suddenly feel something piercing through your back.

"Your heart aches, doesn't it?" A calm voice emerges from behind you. You look down and an arrow comes out from your chest, the same arrow from Venti's bow. The tip of it is crimson red, and the liquid drops down. Your white shirt slowly starts turning crimson red and you cough up blood.

"Even though I have an arrow pierced right through your heart you don't seem to even be crying.. is the guilt already hurting your heart so much that this isn't comparable?" You can hear a hint of evilness in the voice. Then tears flow down your cheeks, rapidly.

"You're so selfish, Y/n. You saved yourself instead of him. You regret it now, don't you?" The person rotates the arrow around, which causes you to bleed even more.

"If I could, I would go back in time and die for him." Your voice shakes as you say that. No matter the amount of physical pain people cause you, you won't feel it, as the guilt you feel is consuming you whole.

The person takes the arrow out and they kick your legs, which causes you to fall down on your knees. The blood turns your fully white clothes turn crimson red in almost an instance.

"Come back to me tomorrow then, and I'll make your wish become reality." The voice moves into the distance and the moment you blink, you see Venti on top of you with his hands on your shoulders.

"Y/n dear, you're finally awake. I was trying to wake you up for ages now." He looked worried.

"Don't worry, I didn't die. I'm still alive." You smirk at him, and you sit up, which makes your faces a bit closer than usual.

He hurries away from you and gets off the bed to not make you uncomfortable. He turns around and looks at you again with his ears slightly red.

"What happened, y/n are you bleeding?" He rushed back over to you and takes a small cloth on his way.

"Bleeding, what do you mean?" You look down onto your chest and you see the fabric from your shirt is starting to turn red. 'Shit', you think to yourself.

"Take your shirt off and I'll take care of it." You turn around facing away from venti and reach your hand out for a plaster which he hands you one and you take your shirt off. You gently put the plaster on and venti gently wraps a bandage over you to keep everything in place. You secure the bandage and you slide your shirt back on.

"What happened.. where did you get hurt? You know you can tell me anything, and I'll make sure the bastard is held accountable for what they did. Whether it's by someone elses hands or mine." He says as he looks straight into your eyes. You can see the anger in his eyes.

"I-I really don't know." You put your hand on your head as it begins to ache. 'come back to me', the voice echoes in your head again.

"Are you sure?" He puts his hand on your shoulder and he looks into your eyes with genuine concern for you.

"Everything's fine. Now I need to get ready to go do my commissions." You feel his hand touch your shoulder.

"Maybe you should just stay home today. Let the wound heal by resting." You turn around and you face him. "If I wasn't okay, would I be able to do this?" You quickly snatch Ventis lyre to get his attention away from your wound and you try strumming on the strings.. you notice how hard it is to play this thing.

When Venti plays it, it sounds majestic, like a pure gift to your ears, but the moment you touched the strings, it sounded like a cat getting run over by a wooden cart.

Venti quickly grabs his lyre out of your grasp and he inspects the strings, checking if you did anything to them. "You're way too harsh with it." His hair slowly sways Infront of his face and he fixes it.

"The lyre is a delicate instrument. You need to use it very gently and it will release beautiful melodies like this." Venti runs his fingers over the turquoise strings of the lyre and a calming melody plays. "Come here, let me show you." He pulls you up closer towards him, making your back to face him and he gives the lyre back to you.

He wraps his arms around you and adjusts your grip on the lyre. "I'll guide your hand across the strings, and maybe one day you'll be able to play the lyre just like me." He smiles, but you can't see it as your back is facing to his face. His soft hands touch yours and he guides your hands and fingers across the strings of the lyre and it makes that peaceful melody again.

This makes your whole body warm up with happiness. You put the Lyre down and you face Venti and you start to braid the front pieces of his hair. "Did anyone ever tell you that you have nice hair? It may sound weird but, you know." You smile as all you're probably doing is making this situation awkward..

"Thank you, traveller~" He smirks as he gladly accepts the compliment without hesitation. This compliment makes him smile throughout the rest of the process of braiding his hair.

"I told you that you can call me by my name in the Serenitea pot. No need to call me traveller."

You smile as you finish off his left braid and you stand up and you yawn.

"Now I shall be off to do my commissions. This traveller has places to be." You say as you take your brown backpack and put a bottle of water in it and you place it by your door. You quickly run to the bathroom to get changed, which doesn't take long as you are out of the bathroom in a few seconds.

"I'll see you later then, Venti." You wave goodbye to him as you put your backpack on and you take your sword and close the door behind you.

Suddenly you get this strange feeling as if you need to be somewhere, to meet up, but it's not about your commissions..
