"Come on traveller, keep up~" Venti says as he runs in the wind quickly.

"I swear, if you messed with the wind again, I'll get you." You pant as it feels like you're being pushed back by giants, but that won't stop you. You can hear Venti giggle as he runs off into the distance, making it look so easy.

"Bard, your repeated cheating will not go unpunished." You say in a determined voice as you let out all your force in and you begin to run for real this time. You can see Venti turn his head around and it shocked him to see you actually run.

After some time, you successfully catch up to him and forcefully bring him closer to you, pressing your bodies together. Suddenly, the feeling of heaviness disappears and you glare playfully at Venti.

"I knew you were cheating." You look at him in a fake annoyed face. Then he grins playfully and tries to get out of your grasp, but he can't. You're stronger than him in human form. You pick him up and place him down on a rock and you take his cape and hat off.

"Mine now." You quickly put them on, and you run freely in the enormous field in Windrise. Venti stands back up and he looks at you and lets out a big exhale. "You still manage to surprise me with your physical strength, especially since you're just a mere mortal." He smirks, complimenting you? You don't know, you weren't very good at reading what Venti felt or knowing his true intentions.

"So I'm just a mere mortal to you now..?" You walk up towards him, hands on your hips and you smirk, quite obviously teasing him.

"Beside me a god, yes." At that moment, you whack him across the top of his head and you laugh. "Now, now, short stack. Don't get so full of yourself." You snicker.

"You're not so tall yourself, Traveller, so you don't get so full of yourself too by calling me short." He crosses his arms and pouts in a joking way.

This is fun. Just being in his presence.. You never want these moments to end so you just smile as you look at him before shortly saying "Stop pouting, you look stupid. What would the other archons say if they saw you doing that?" You laugh.

"They already have a negative opinion of me, and they only perceive me as a drunkard, so I don't think they would be surprised." I mean, he really does have a point. I can see why the other archons only view him as a drunkard. I thought that too at first.

"While we're on the topic of drinks, come to angel's share with me, Traveller~," He reaches out for your hand as he hopes you will go to the bar with him.

You sigh and take his hand. "I'm only agreeing on this one and only time, never again." You look deep into his full of life turquoise eyes.

"We will see about that, and besides that, I think it's time for you to give those back." He says as he takes his cape and hat back and puts them back on.

Angel's Share

Venti swings the door open whilst still holding your hand. The tall red-haired man, Diluc, rolls his eyes at the sight of Venti.

"I told you that you're not allowed back in until you pay down your tab, bard." Diluc says as he is drying off a glass with a small tea towel.

He really spends a lot of time here if he has a whole tab to pay off..

"Oh Diluc, you know as a bard I can pay you with the amazing melodies that my fingers and mind have to offer." He lets go of your hand and he takes his Lyre and runs his fingers over the delicate strings.

Diluc completely ignores venti and turns his sight to you. "Traveller, what brings you here back to Angel's Share? You haven't been here since the mission with Acting Grand Master Jean and this drunkard.."

He puts the cup down and pays full attention to you.

"Just thought it would be the perfect time to pay a visit back, you know?" You smile softly as Venti sulks to himself.

"How about I get you a glass of some Fine Dandelion wine?" He says as he walks back to the storeroom and I can feel Ventis' eyes piercing through my skin.

"He never even offered me that. What makes you so much more special than me?" He whines like a little kid. You still can't grasp how this man-child is the archon of this region and the god of wind.

"Maybe if you're nice enough, I'll let you have some." You say even though you have no intention of giving him any. Just by those words Venti stands still and shuts his mouth for once, surprisingly.

After some time, Diluc comes back with a glass full of Dandelion Wine and hands it over to you. You happily take the glass and you lean over the counter and you quietly whisper to Diluc.

"How much does Venti have on his tab?" You ask from genuine curiosity, and maybe you could pay it off since you know damn well he makes no money.

"Around 10,000 mora." My face just goes blank. How often does he come here and how long has it been since he even paid a single mora to poor Diluc? At this rate, he will go bankrupt with Venti drinking all his beverages but never paying for them.

"Take this then." I hand diluc 12k mora and I walk away to the table that venti sits quietly at. I put the glass down and Ventis eyes follow the slightest movements of the glass. You know he wants some. It's a bit too obvious. You try to take a sip, but you feel uncomfortable with him staring into your soul like that. You sigh and put the glass down on the table and slide it towards him.

"Fine, have some." You say as you see his eyes sparkle from joy as the glass is in front of him. He takes a small sip and a wide grin plasters across his face. "How does he dare hide such goodness from me, the archon of the land he lives in?" Venti says as he sadly puts the glass back down and slides it back to you. You can see him be sad again, as the glass is no longer in his possession.

"Go get some drinks for yourself then, and maybe some for me. I cleared your tab." The happiness present on Venti's face is like a child on Christmas day. "Thank you, traveller~" he says as he walks back over to diluc and he just walks away from him. You find yourself laughing at that.

A long time passes and you're at the point where you can barely keep your eyes open. How many hours has it been? How many drinks? It's quite evident that you're piss drunk, as your state can't be described as anything else. Your head falls to the table and suddenly everything is hot again.

You're back here again. A place you never wanted to return to. It might be hell itself at this point. You don't know what could be worse than this.

Venti's body lays in front of you, completely limp. Just like it was last time. Streams of tears flow down your face as you hold his other hand, hoping a miracle would happen, but nothing did.

"Nothing you will do will bring him back, you know?" "You killed him. You're a murderer, Y/n." The voices in your head echo once again as you feel yourself detach from your sanity even more than last time.

"Just give up. It's over for you and him." It can't be over. It just can't. I still have so much to tell him.. he's still alive.. we were just at angels share together.

You look at your hands completely covered in blood and they shake. Suddenly you feel something rock hard hit against your back and you open your eyes to venti standing above you trying to pick you back up even though he's unable to stand on his own two legs.

"Did you see something, traveller? You look horrified." He looks at you as he slightly slurs his words. "You're sweating. Did you have a nightmare?"

"No," you whisper, gazing into his stunning eyes.

You can run away for as long as you want, but it will never change anything that happened.. Y/n..
