Seonghwa
The sun was shining, which woke me up from my sleep. I slowly woke up and looked in the room I had lived in for 2 weeks now. Still aren't comfortable here, but what am I supposed to change? A maid came into the Room, "Good morning, your highness." "Good morning," I said with still a kinda sleepy voice back. I am not used to this anymore even if I hear it now again after almost 2 weeks.
She brought a white suit with some black and blue details into the room, my look for tonight. Today was 'the day' of my 18th birthday. So I had to look pretty for the ball tonight.
After she hung up the suit, she looked for an outfit I could wear over the day. Then she went into the bathroom.
After I was ready to go downstairs, the one face showed that I was every day happy about seeing. Hongjoong looked through the door with a big smile and greeted me with "Good morning, your Royal Highness."
"Don't do that." I laughed.
"Still not used to it"
"Does it look like I have" I let out a big sigh. His smile vanished, "You will have to get used to it." I nodded and then went past him to go downstairs to my 'Parents'. My mother greeted me and I sat down next to my father at the table. Hongjoong stood close to the table, since he wasn't supposed to leave my side. It was an order from my uncle, he knew it would help me in some kind of way.
They didn't say a happy birthday to me, they just ate breakfast and ignored me most of the time. I wish my uncle was here, or at least my cousin. "You know that tonight..." "I know" I interrupted my father, he's told me this like every day since I came back. I don't want to hear it anymore. I don't want to look for a wife tonight, and I won't do it.
He looked at me with a mean face. Sure, go on, I won't change something about this situation. I won't be the perfect son for a man who doesn't even care a bit about me. The air was getting thicker with each second we were sitting there. Then my mum interrupted, "So my son..."
"Don't call me that" I let out meaner than I intended. She looked at me with a slightly shocked face, but then continued, "Seonghwa. . . What are you looking for tonight, do you have any preference or person in mind." I sighed quietly and looked around. In the corner of my eyes, I then saw Hongjoong "someone... who is slightly smaller than me... with maybe black hair and dark eyes. Someone who also makes my days better every time I see them." Hongjoong noticed that I looked at him and gave me a "don't you dare" face. I smirked and tried to hold back my laughter. He knows I always make this type of joke, my uncle would have laughed but since he is not here and my parents don't like the idea of me having someone from the lower class as my friend, they said it doesn't look good for the normal people, they didn't get the joke.
"That is quite an exact idea of a person... Have you met someone when you were living with your uncle" asked my father. I disagreed, if I would agree I had to explain who it was, and I was not in the mood to have another fight with my father. We were all quiet for the rest of the breakfast.
After a time I stood up and wanted to go back to my room, I still had some studies to do before the ball. "Your uncle will be there, too. Maybe that will make you a little happier" my father said and even if I hated him this made my day a little more exciting.
As always, Hongjoong followed me into my room as said he was not supposed to leave my side. "This is going to be my worst birthday ever" I just let out. Hongjoong didn't exactly know what to say, so he just nodded. "Hopefully after all of this you and the king have a better relationship" I laughed, "I am glad when he is gone and that probably will never change" Hongjoong didn't look too happy about my answer. Perhaps because his father passed 2 years ago. I looked at him and realized that even if I hate my father, he is still alive, so every opportunity is still possible.
