Reece's team got here pretty fast.

My key had dropped to the floor. My panicked hands quickly dialling the number which Reece gave me, in case of emergencies.

My phone was at my ear, the sound of my heartbeat just a bit louder than the ringing noise. It felt like I wasn't breathing, perhaps my brain wasn't getting sufficient oxygen.

"Hello?" Reece's voice grumbled down the line.

I couldn't speak, I was trying. Trying so hard, tears now streaming down my face as I sunk to the floor at the bottom of the stairs, which I had just stumbled down.

"Reece, I-"

He must have realised what was going on as I could hear him saying more and more things, I'm guessing that were directed to me, but I couldn't think straight enough to actually listen.

As I waited for them to arrive, I had made my way out to the front of my shop. Sat just outside the front door, the phone call still connected. I could hear driving noises, so I knew that Reece was coming.

His team had been in and out of the building multiple times by now. Yet, I was still sitting on the front steps of the shop. My head pounding now, most likely due to the large amount of tears that were shed.

For a while all I could hear was this awful ringing noise, trying not to throw up was my main goal. Eventually, a pair of feet stopped in front of me. Looking up, I realised it was Reece.

"Sorry," I said, before looking back down, my fingers brushing off the sand that was on my bare feet.

I didn't really know what else to say.

He didn't say anything, so I looked up to him. His mouth was open at first like he was ready to say something, but then it closed again, like our first encounter at his office.

Thankfully, Rowan joined us outside. I could see the clear evidence bag with the little note inside. I still didn't even know what it said. I didn't want to know anyway.

"Hey, did you touch it?" Rowan spoke to me, as he crouched down to be at my height.

I just shook my head.

"Tell me what happened, Eleanor." Reece finally spoke.

"I thought you didn't want to call me that." I bitterly replied I didn't intend to be rude, but it definitely came off that way.

I had remembered his awkwardness over my name earlier this week, and part of me still wanted to know why. Part of me just stalling, so I didn't have to think about my stalker-impending doom.

It took him a second but eventually, he said "Tell me what happened, Finley."

My confusion was identified by him, as he indicated to my full name 'Eleanor Finley Park' written at the top of the file he was holding.

"I didn't touch it at all. I came back by myself, had a shower, and sorted my snorkelling gear, before I went upstairs, and found it."

"Who was working in the shop?" Reece rapidly asked after I finished speaking quietly.

"This high schooler I hired, she will of closed the shop at around 3. I've not been here since 12."

"Where were you?"

"Went diving with Eric."

"Where is he?"

"Um I'm not sure, he left the beach separately from me. Said his dad needed his help."

"Security Cameras." he nodded towards Rowan, who quickly rushed back to the van, following his orders.

He next spoke to another man, but I couldn't hear him this time.

His team worked efficiently, not much conversation as each person worked. I just remained where I was sat, enjoying the warmth of the evening breeze. I also didn't want to go back inside, despite the fact that Rowan had fully checked my apartment.

Just in case.
