Yuqi tapped her hand idly on the steering wheel, leaning forward so that she could see more clearly her girlfriend who was talking to the cashier of Chipotle through the restaurant's glass windows.
She narrowed her eyes when she saw the cashier lean forward on the counter, resting his hand on his cheek while he talked to Yuqi's girlfriend. What are they even talking about? She tapped her fingers faster on the wheel, sighing in relief when their order was ready and she pays for the food. He probably didn't have time to ask for her number. Right?
She unlocks the car and doesn't look at her girlfriend when she gets in. Yuqi locks it back, pulling out of the makeshift parking spot outside the front of Chipotle.
Her girlfriend sighs in contentment, opening the bag that contained their dinner. "Doesn't this smell just make you hungrier?"
"Hm, yeah," Yuqi grumbled, trying not to seem too annoyed as she focused her attention on the dark road in front of her.
"What's wrong, honey?" her girlfriend asks, tipping her head cutely. Not like Yuqi should be looking towards her anyway, her eyes should be paying attention to when she can go once the red light turns green. But she turned to her, a small frown on her face.
"I'm jealous, Soyeon," she murmurs, remembering when they both promised to tell each other everything, no matter how silly or serious it could be.
"About what?" Soyeon instinctively points to the light when it flickers green, signaling Yuqi to step on the gas.
Yuqi sighed quietly, frankly a little embarrassed. "I could see that Chipotle guy eye fucking you and it was honestly uncomfortable to watch. It.. made me jealous." Yuqi explained.
Soyeon laughed. "You're so cute sometimes. He just asked me what I thought about the cold weather."
Yuqi rolled her eyes. "But he was looking at you like this." She turned to Soyeon, looking at her lips while opening her mouth at the slightest.
Soyeon was about to laugh but she reached desperately for the wheel, keeping it straight. "Shit, Yuqi, pay attention to the road," she murmurs, breath heavy.
Yuqi swallowed, focusing, well aware that she just put herself and Soyeon in a lot of danger. "I'll be more careful."

"Will you be okay without me tomorrow? I'm going to go hangout with my friend," Soyeon says, taking a larger than necessary bite of her burrito.
Yuqi chuckles to herself, wiping Soyeon's cheeks from scattered bits of rice with her thumb. "Yeah, I'll be fine. But I'll miss you," Yuqi dramatically holds a hand over her heart, pulling out her best pout.
Soyeon swallows her food. "Oh, you drama queen," she sets her burrito down to reach for hot sauce.
Yuqi takes it away from her, giving her a knowing look. "Are you sure you can handle it?" She remembers the last time Soyeon'd had hot sauce. It involved Yuqi running in the rain to the nearest convenience store to get milk to soothe Soyeon's burning mouth.
"I can handle it! And, we have milk this time."
"We better," Yuqi remarks, getting up from the table to check the fridge for it. Seeing that they indeed did have some milk, she sat back down, digging into her tacos.
"Can I have one?" Soyeon's hand was already reaching for one of the tacos on Yuqi's plate, dragging it over to her own.
"Wha- I didn't even say yes!" She said in exasperation, watching Soyeon take a bite of the food that Yuqi had ordered.
"You would've said yes," Soyeon says with food in her mouth.
Yuqi shakes her head, her mouth betraying her by smiling. "Yeah, I would've."
Food finished and bellies full, the couple sat on the couch, Soyeon with the remote switching through channels to find a movie for them to watch before bed. She stopped on the news channel, both of them curious to see if they were missing out on any big news.
"Police have yet to catch the serial killer that has run loose across the city, striking down any–"
Soyeon switched off the tv, her breath catching in her throat. Without a word between them, Yuqi stood up from the couch and carried Soyeon sweetly into their bedroom, laying her down. In the dark room, Yuqi kissed Soyeon on her cheek, settling down next to her. The older cuddled into her girlfriend's body, wrapping her arms around her middle and burying her face in the crook of her neck.
"Just sleep, baby, don't think of it," Yuqi murmured, knowing that her girlfriend was worried about what they had heard on the news.
"Okay," Soyeon whispers, holding Yuqi even tighter.
