It was then that I wished I had brought my motorcycle. The first half hour of the ride was awkward and tense no one spoke and we were both caught up in our thoughts, but I wanted to know more about zoella, I wanted her attention on me.
So I did the only thing I knew how to do other than play soccer and did something stupid, except it wasn't entirely my fault. As we got onto the highway the cars became more and the speeds of course grew faster so when this car swerved right and almost collided to Zoella's side I lowered the window and shouted some, and then proceeded to have a honking match. She grew annoyed at this, I could tell but at least there was no more tension in the car.
"Martin, stop!" She suddenly shouted and I did.
"God, was that really necessary?" She asked and I chuckled a bit.
Then the silence fell on us again, "I really hope Leila's okay" Zoella then said and I realized that she was really worried about John and Leila, and here I was thinking of ways for her to talk to me, I felt like a selfish douche.
"I'm sure everything's fine, I mean John can handle these situations well. Once when I was younger I was way past drunk, I had messed with the wrong people ad John was there to calm everything down, he ended up with a broken arm and I fractured a fracture knee ligament, I would've probably broken more if it weren't for him." I told her remembering one fo the many adventires we had together.
"Of course, we were both suspended from the team for a month. All I remember from that night was waking up to my parents crying, turns I had alcohol poisoning. John noticed because of some class he was taking in school, my breathing was slow, I was pale, and confused." I finished off the story that few people knew.
"Oh god, how old were you guys when that happened?" Ella asked.
" Around 16 or 17, I don't remember, all those years were pretty much a blur to me" I said honestly, "but don't need your pity, I got along fine, and look at me now, the world loves me" I then chuckled.
"John has always been there, and looks like now the hero needs saving. I owe him everything, and there is nothing wouldn't do for him." I told her. I loved John like a brother, our bond was unbreakable.
She chuckled at that, "Let's turn this conversation to something more cheerful," I said and proceeded to ask her about her childhood and we spent the whole 2 hours (there was a lot of traffic) talking animatedly.
When we finally reached the address John had sent me, it was an old isolated parking lot in the back of a crowded street, and then I saw what I was looking for. John's car, except it was wrecked and surrounded by two cop cars.
We neared the area and there was a distressed looking Leila trying to calm John down. He was in handcuffs screaming.
"Oh Martin, thank god you're here!" Lila said throwing her arms around me once she saw me.
"What's going on?" I asked looking at the cops, and at John who was handcuffed.
"He beat a journalist up, got sent to the hospital, we're going to have to keep him overnight, but he refuses to cooperate with us" The cop said.
"He was no journalist, a damn pap in my hotel room waiting for my fiancee, like hell I was just going to stand there ad look what he did to my car!" John shouted once again angry, forcing his wrist on the handcuffs.
"John stop, you're hurting yourself" Leila said quietly looking at his wrists.
John softened up, "Hey john, go with them, we'll follow you to the station and talk things over, calm down" I told him trying tot talk some sense into him, if he kept resisting things could go downhill.
"Alright man," He said and got into the cop car, the cops then followed.
I gave Leila a small hug and held the back door open for her and Zoella to climb in.
"There was a pap in your hotel room?" I asked.
"Yes, He had set up cameras all over the room and I guess we came back before earlier than he had thought so he couldn't escape." She started off and Zoella cut her "God that's disgusting, good thing you guys arrived earlier."
"John started hitting him, and I called the hotel's security, who tried to stop the fight and then he called the cops. The pap had ran off and John and I were both escorted down to the lobby. John's car was missing and we tracked it down to that lot where we were surrounded by more paparazzi's," she stopped and took a breath.
"So it was like a set up?" I asked and she nodded.
"John saw the guy who was at our hotel and started hitting him again left him unconscious. The police made everyone leave and they called an ambulance for the guy and told John they had to arrest him, there he got angry and arguing with the cops, who had to handcuff him as well ad you arrived." She explained everything.
"Well at least you and John are okay, now lets see if we can bail him out before he has to stay the night" I told her and followed the cop cars to the station trying to think of everything and anything I knew about law that would help me with John.
We've both spent many nights in cells like these, but that was part of our past, I would hate for John to have to relive that.
Once we reached the station I went in and asked about John's situation and they told me John could pay bail, and be released depending on the doctor's medical report which would arrive tomorrow morning, which meant that John had to spend the night.
So I explained to the cop what happened with Leila an he had me fill in a paper reporting hat had happened and once that was filled, they would send in a patrol to go and arrest him, I'm guessing that the story made the cop change his mind because they said I could pay for John's bail and he could go out as long as he stayed in the city's limits because he was going to be called tomorrow.
An hour later, after I payed, and signed a few papers, John was released. He looked like hell but as soon as he saw Leila he smiled and her an over to give her a hug.
Without a word we all climbed into my car and went to the nearest hotel where we booked two rooms. One for Leila and John, and another one with two beds for Zoella and I.
