As the brunet started to walk over to the grill, he heard the store bell ring. He groaned as he walked back, annoyed by the audacity of the person who interrupted his baking.
"Hello, welcome to the Breakfast Parlor..." He said lousily, taking out his notepad in the process. "What would you like?"
"Two pancakes with four banana slices and some maple syrup." The customer spoke as he lifted his sunglasses. Cooper looked up after writing down this person's order. His eyebrows raised as he looked at the beautiful man before his very eyes.
"Would that be all?" He spoke, trying not to keep eye contact with the customer. Why was he so immersed in their eyes? Cooper thought.
The person smiled at the comment, "Yes, it will."
"Name for your order?" Cooper asked, confused as to why he was so unrelenting to continue talking with this person even after being like this, whatever that was.
"Timm." The person says as they continue to smile that damn smile. Cooper couldn't quite place what it was about him that was so enticing. He tried to ignore it and continued writing his name.
"Okay, your order will be right up," Cooper said as he walked away from the customer. Once he reached the grill, he sat on the ground, his face buried in his hands.
"What the hell is wrong with me? Why am I so awkward?" He groaned as he lifted his face from his hands to see his co-worker, Prudence.
"Hey, Cooper. What's up with you? You look pretty upset over something." She said as she put her hand on her hip.
He looked down to avoid her gaze before he spoke, "No, nothing's wrong. I was just being awkward, as always..."
"You are such a little liar! What's wrong? Tell me." She exaggeratedly said, crouching down so she perchance be at eye level with him.
"I don't know! I'm not the greatest at this!" Cooper said with aggravation and stress.
"The job or talking about what happened?" Prudence asked.
Cooper was silent for a bit, thinking, "Both..."
"You certainly are a loser, huh?" she said, taking a water bottle from the fridge. She hands it to Cooper.
He takes it without any hesitation. "No need to make fun of me..."
"But it's funny."
"Maybe to you, but not to me."
"Yeah, you have a point." She chuckled. "But tell me what's wrong. No more chit-chat."
He groaned, "Don't call it that."
"I will if I want to." As she spoke, she began to grin. "Just tell me!"
"Fine! There was a customer," he was cut off by her gasp.
"Was it an ex? Wait, don't tell me, let me guess!" She said with an almost annoyingly excited voice.
"What? No, I don't know him." Cooper spoke.
She raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?"
"Yes, now leave me alone about it," Cooper said as he moved off the floor and walked off.
Prudence scoffed as she watched him leave, "Then, I'll try again later.".............................................................................
