After work that night I quickly changed my clothes and planned on heading out again. This time it was a Friday night so I didn't feel like I was going to be quite as much of a mess as I ended up being today.
I went to dinner with a few of my coworkers before I went back to the club. I'd had luck here last night, so why not try again?
I went up to the bar and got my usual dose of liquid courage before I went out on to the dance floor. I surveyed the crowd and looked for someone that I was interested in.
It wasn't quite as crowded yet since I was there a little earlier tonight, but I still had plenty of options to choose from. My eyes made their way back over to the bar where I saw a pretty blonde ordering her drink.
I quickly walked back over to the bar and stood next to her.
"I'll get that for you," I said when the bartender came back to get her money.
"Oh, you don't have to do that, but thanks," she said.
"No problem," I said with a smile, "I'm Sophie."
"Jess," she responded with a shy grin.
"Nice to meet you Jess, want to go dance?" I asked her.
She nodded and I reached down and took her hand in mine and walked out to the dance floor. We danced together for a while and continued to drink as I followed the same pattern from the night before.
Jess seemed a little more shy than Natalie had, so I was being careful not to come off too strong, but it was definitely hard. As we both got more alcohol in our systems, I snaked my arm around Jess' waist and tried to pull her in closer to me.
I could see her blushing, but she didn't pull back. She looked up and met my gaze, and I took my chance. I slowly leaned in and pressed my lips against hers, and she definitely returned the kiss.
As I pulled back I said in her ear, "come back to my place where it's a little quieter?"
"Sure," she said with a grin.
I wasn't really sure if it was a good sign that these girls were so willing to come back with me after we'd barely known each other, but that was something to worry about at another time.
We got back to the house and I didn't see any sign of Riley, so sat down on the couch. We chatted for a little bit, but it wasn't long before the sexual tension took over for both of us.
I rested my hand on Jess' thigh and leaned in and slowly began to kiss her. She put her hand on the back of my neck and leaned in closer to me. I reached my arms around her waist and pulled her on to my lap as we continued to kiss.
I kept my hands gripping on to her hips as she leaned over top of me and our tongues began to tangle together. My fingers began to trail up the skin underneath of her shirt, but before anything went further, I heard the door open.
It took me a minute to register what was going on, but when I did I pulled back and looked around Jess towards the door. Riley was standing there with a look between shock and embarrassment on her face.
Oops, I thought.
"Hey Riley," I said with a smirk on my face as I put my hand up and waved to her.
Jess put her face in her hands and began to laugh as she leaned against my shoulder.
"I um - hi," Riley said awkwardly, "sorry for interrupting...whatever this is."
Before I could respond she quickly walked down the hallway and to her room. I heard the door shut shortly after she made it there.
Wasn't so fun when the roles were reversed, was it Riley?
"Soooo, that's my roommate," I said to Jess with a laugh.
"At least she isn't your girlfriend or something," Jess said as she grinned at me.
I felt my cheeks turn red but I quickly composed myself. "No, it's nothing like that."
"Good," she said, "now where were we?"
"Let's continue in my room just in case...I don't need any other awkward encounters," I said to her.
"True," she said as she got off of my lap.
I got up and lead her back to my room and shut the door behind us.
The same pattern followed with Jess as it had with Natalie, and the next few girls I brought home after that. I knew I was being reckless, but at this point I didn't really care.
Riley had hurt me, and I wanted to make sure she knew how I felt. It wasn't even the fact that she didn't feel the same way that I did. I could've dealt with that at least a little bit better. It was the fact that she was toying with me and going back and forth and basically flaunting it in my face.
I didn't really think that she had done any of this on purpose, but it hurt either way.
Although I did realize that I hadn't seen Jackson around in a while, so maybe she was at least starting to get the picture.
About a week or two later, I woke up one morning with yet another girl lying next to me. This routine hadn't gotten old yet, so why not.
I snuck out to the kitchen to get some water, and I found Riley sitting there drinking her coffee.
"Morning," I grumbled, "just need to grab some water."
Riley looked up at me and didn't say anything at first. She continued to sip on her coffee as I filled a glass up.
I took a sip of the water as I turned and got ready to go back to my room.
"Another late night last night, huh?" Riley asked.
I stopped and turned back around to face her.
"Yes it was, and it was quite pleasant," I said sarcastically.
I thought that would be the end of it, but Riley stood up out of her chair and gave me a look that wasn't exactly friendly.
"Okay Soph, I give in. What the fuck are you doing??"
