Luke was in his room, texting Noa about their afternoon plans. He asked her to meet at his house since he thought that his parents wouldn't be home and he could get away with her not meeting them just yet.
He found himself changing his outfit quite a few times since he knows how stylish his girlfriend is. After his seventh outfit change, he made his way downstairs to grab a water and waste time until Noa got there.
"So, have you set a date for when we're meeting your girlfriend?"Phil asks his son.
"Uh..not yet. She's been pretty busy with school so we're still figuring it out."Luke lied, not looking his father in the eye.
"Huh. You know..if you're worried about your mother, then I promise you-she'll be cool. You don't have to worry about her judging the girl to her face. She'd do it when you leave."Phil says, trying to make a joke.
"Right."Luke says, smiling at the new message from Noa.
Luke shakes his head at this. He thought that he'd have to take her to places where the food is in another language and the prices aren't on the menu. He was overjoyed when she told him that she likes doing simple things and her favourite food is tacos.
Luke was so caught up in his conversation that he didn't notice his mother coming to him. When she cleared her throat; he quickly locked his phone and smiled at her before walking away, but not before grabbing a pie.
Claire frowns and walks over to Phil before checking that they're alone.
"And? Did you get a name or anything about this girl?"
"Nothing. He's been super secretive about it and he usually tells me everything."Phil says with a frown--not used to being out of the loop with Luke."I don't like this feeling."
Claire bites her lip and narrows her eyes a bit.
"We need to get his phone. Or ask Haley..no, Manny. They should know something about her."
"Ask me what?"Haley asks, walking in to grab a water."Listen..don't put too much on this lunch with Arvin. Try to be normal..I'm not asking for much."
"Yea yea..do you know anything about the girl Luke's been seeing?"
"Luke has a girlfriend?"Haley says, frowning at the new information."Maybe she's another one of those braindead wannabe Instagram models. Trust me, it'll probably fizzle out before you even get to meet her."
"But he sa-"
"Thank you Haley."Claire says, ending the conversation with a look at Phil.
Haley walks out with a shrug as her parents look at each other-to get Arvin.
"Let's forget about Luke for the moment and just focus on this lunch first."
Phil then took out the Krazy Kups and was amused by the fact that potatoes had more chromosomes than humans. Claire then made a dig at who was smarter between the two of them when Luke came in.
