Everly Jordan

"What do you mean that I look insane? I'm fine." I told Natty, and she looked at me, raising her eyebrows, confused.

"You're eating steak with your hand, and you just complained why your water tasted so plain..." She pointed at my steak, and I looked down. I let out a long sigh and put the steak down. I wiped my hands with some tissues.

"It's been two weeks since you and Mason got divorced, and you've been acting insane ever since. Adding the fact that you've been crying every night while drinking tequila." Natty gave me wet wipes to wipe my hands, "You're a mess. It's not a crime to admit that you miss him."

It's a fucking crime.

Ever since Leroy came to me and told me that Mason signed it, I was walking around like a broken glass. I was slowly losing my motivation to live. I stared at his name on my phone every second to the point my eyes hurt so much that I had to go to the doctor.

Mason didn't even bother to text or to call me. He just suddenly disappeared. Vanished into thin air.

All the routines that we used to do together were gone.

I was so used to having him around that when he was not there, it felt empty. I also can't sleep at night. Mason used to cuddle and sometimes kiss me, assuring me that everything would be okay.

I always feel safe around him, and I've been having difficulty going through everything.

"Just call him, he'll answer it."

"Leroy said he will come around after his work trip to Europe," I said, and Natty rolled her eyes.

After lunch, I decided to return to the studio and write some songs. I poured all my feelings out somehow, and I ended up crying.

I miss Mason.

I miss him so much that my heart was starting to ache as if someone had stabbed me.

I grabbed my phone and dialed his number. My heart was beating so fast that I was starting to sweat, too.

"Hello, Everly." He answered, and I gasped.

"Mason."

"What happened? Did something happen?" He sounded so worried, and it made me cry instantly.

"Where are you?"

"In Spain, I have work. What happened? You're at the studio, right?"

"How did you know where I am?"

"Everly, I have my people watching you 24/7."

"Why aren't you here?"

"You said you needed space, and you've wanted a divorce for a while."

"Since when do you listen to me?" I asked, and he went silent.

"Get your ass back in Seattle, Mason." With that, I ended the call. I continued to cry, and Mason called me. I picked up the call and put him on speaker.

"I'm going to the airport now."

"Good, or else I'm going to smack your head." He chuckled, and he told the driver to drive faster.

"Do you miss me?" He asked.

"Yes."

"Once you're back in my arms, I will give you space anymore." He warned.

"I miss you, Mason."

"Fuck!" He hissed, "I'll be there soon, Little Aster." I smiled when he called me by the nickname that he gave me.

"Why didn't you tell me you'll sign it?"

"The divorce paper?" I'm not too fond of those words.

"Yes."

"The Grants talked me into it. They told me to give me space. Tatiana can't believe I registered both of us without your permission. I mean, I can't help it..."

"Can't help what?"

"I want you all for myself, like all of you."

"And what did I tell you?"

"Tell me what?"

"I told you to do it properly. Propose me properly, Mason." I wiped my tears and chuckled. "I want you as much as you do, but getting married without my permission is a crime. I want to take everything slow."

"I don't like taking things slow."

"Well, you have to learn how to." He sighed, and I chuckled again.

"I've been miserable since the divorce was finalized. You better pay for every tear."

"If you think I'm doing fine, ask Ares and Kayden. They've been dealing with my shit and almost killed me a few times for it." I laughed.

"I thought I was the one who was miserable."

"You're not alone. Stay on the phone with me, and it will be a long flight." He turned on the video, and I put my phone on the desk. He showed me the plane and then turned the camera to him.

He looked like a mess. He looked like he didn't sleep because his eyebags were so visible. His hair was a mess.

We both looked at each other for a second and ended up laughing.

"You look like a wreck." I bluntly said.

"You look like a mess." He mocked my tone.

"Fuck. I miss you so fucking damn much."

"I miss you too."

"Can we get married first, and then I can propose to you after?" I rolled my eyes.

"No." I shook my head, "Do it properly, Mason."

"Fine." He scoffed, and then his attention shifted to someone else. He raised his eyebrows, "What the fuck are you two doing here?"

"We're going back to Seattle, too." He showed me Kayden, and Tatiana sat right across him. Mason showed them that he was talking to me.

"At last..." Kayden said.

"Yeah... at last..." Tatiana glared at him.

"I would like to invite you two for dinner," I started, and Mason quickly turned his phone to him, shaking his head.

"We would love to!" Tatiana squealed.

"Great." I smiled.

"No." Mason hissed.

"Everly, you don't know how shitty Mason is. He's fucking grumpy." Tatiana hissed back.

"Are you two free tomorrow?"

"No," Mason answered.

"Yes!"

"No."

"Mason is busy tomorrow, Ev," Tatiana said, and Mason glared at her.

"Don't make me send you to Boston..."

"Don't make me fucking throw you off the plane, Calland. You don't speak to my wife in that tone again." Kayden hissed.

"Fuck you, Grant." Mason was glaring at Kayden.

"Fuck you too, Calland."

"You two can kiss now," Tatiana said, causing me to laugh like a maniac.
