•~~~The Next Day~~~•

I did not get a tad bit of sleep last night after that. I feel terrible now. My eyes hurt so bad from lack of sleep and my head feels like it's about to burst with the amount thoughts in my head.

It was around 8 am so I got out of bed, freshened up and walked out of the room. He was sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee in his hand and one ready for me on the table in front of him. He looked up at me and smiled comfortingly.

“Morning” he said

I just gave him a little smile and took my seat on the couch next to him, picking up the
coffee. We just sat in silence drinking the coffee, the tension between us being thick.

“So...” I started

“I want to explain” he said. I nodded wanting him to continue

“First off, I am sorry for kissing you without your permission. Even if I wasn’t thinking about the other factors, I should've at least asked for consent. Second off, I am not cheating on Sarah. Yes, we are supposed to get married in 3 months, but this is a contracted marriage.

Me and Sarah have been close friends since we were 8. We would always be stuck at hip;
we are so close that we don’t keep any secrets between us. We are so close that she is the only person who knows my sexuality and vice versa. Our parents misunderstood the
closeness between us, they wanted us to get married. Although we both were very opposed
to the idea of marriage, when we thought deeper about it, we found out that if we got
married for name's sake, it would mean both the companies would get benefits out of it.

We concluded that we would get married but just for business' sake and no strings will be
attached. One year later, we will get a divorce and go back to our lives” he explained.

I stayed silent, taking in all the information. Once, I digested it. I realized one thing, I like
him. If all he said was true, I could try giving this a shot. But one thing was lingering in my
mind.

“Okay, I can give whatever this is a shot” I said, my voice lower than usual. His face lit up.

“But I need proof” I said simply. He just nodded, got up and went to make a phone call.
It seemed like he was trying to face time someone, the person picked up and it was none other than Sarah herself.
“Hey, Mile, how are you doing?” she asked him

“Hey Sarah. I need your help” had said

“What’s up?” she asked. He explained the whole situation to her, she was listening keenly to every detail like it was some gossip.

“Pass the phone to him, I’ve got this” she said. Mile smiled and passed the phone to me. She explained everything to me and even showed me the contract the two had made.

“Do you believe us now?” she asked when she was done.

“Okay, I guess this is enough” I said, Mile’s and Sarah’s face lit up at my response.

“Can you pass the phone to Mile now?” she asked. I nodded a did as told. “Don’t mess it up this time, he seems like a very nice person, got it?” she asked

Mile just nodded and hung up.

He turned to me and smile, I smiled back.
“Since I never told this to you, I like you, Alan. Do you want to go out with me?” he popped the question.

“Sure, Mr. Walker” I said, and he chuckled.
That’s how I fell in love with my client as a wedding planner in Just 2 days
