I'm the most naive person to ever exist.

Why am I doing this? Why do I trust people who break my heart and show me every step of the way why I shouldn't?

I didn't even try to cover the area around my eye, which was slowly turning red, or my busted lip.

When I woke up, he was gone. He was neither inside nor outside. And I didn't even care where he was. Wherever he went, I hope he doesn't come back.

I knew I needed to go to the hospital. I have to explain to them that I don't have money, but that I will bring it as soon as possible. Maybe I'll stop at a bistro along the way and see how much the boss would be willing to give me.

I walked out of the house, ready to go to the bistro, but stopped in front of the door when I saw Jeremy and Lincoln walking towards my house. They smiled when they saw me, but the closer they got, the more likely they'd notice my red eye and lip

It was obvious when they noticed it. Their smiles dropped faster than ever and they ran toward me with concern.

"Lexi, what the hell happened?" The first Jeremy asked.

"I'm okay."

"Let me look at it." Lincoln immediately put himself in the position of a doctor and grabbed my face to examine my eye. "Are you dizzy?" I shook my head. "Are you in pain?"

"Not really." I ran my tongue over my lip.

"Lexi, who did this to you?" Jeremy tried asking again.

"It doesn't matter now. I have to go. Thanks for caring about me, but I don't have time for this." I tried to slip past them, but I couldn't. "Guys, please," I said desperately. "I have to go see my mother.."

"Was it your father? Because if he was, you know what I said last time. He'll touch you and the police will be the least of his problems." I immediately remembered what Jeremy said when he first met Finn, who thought it was Jeremy who left the bruises on me.

"You know what?" I smiled desperately. "You might as well kill him." I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't care what happens to him anymore. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go." As they were stunned by my words, this time I managed to walk past them.

I don't know if I meant it or not, but I know I've had enough. It's time for me to start doing something because I can't live like this anymore.
