Naoyasu's parents are obsessed with snakes (which is part of the reason they enrolled him at Nohebi). They own a ton of them, and let Naoyasu pick one out when he was 10. He picked out a reticulated python and named him Xanthi (derived from the Greek word "xanthos", which means yellow).
