Chapter Seventeen
Harry smiled as he rubbed the small chest underneath his hand, his eyes looking up to meet Lucius' across the bed his hand resting on Maddock's chest, the grin that he had been wearing since the twins were born five days ago still present. His silver blue eyes were glowing with happiness, and he had barely been able to take his eyes off of the twins since they were born.
Harry had moved the twins to the bed this morning once he had finished feeding them, settling them down on the mattress beside Lucius in time for the other man to wake. The smile had burst across his face straight away when he woke to see Harry carefully laying Killian down beside Maddock. He had hummed contently and rolled over to rub Maddock's chest, grinning a little wider when the baby made a contently gurgling sound and started to kick his legs slightly, his twin responding to the noise and movement waving his own arms and letting out a small noise.
They had been lying here for a good hour just watching the babies as hey nodded back off, and enjoying the sound and scent of their sons lying next to them. Harry didnt know that it was possibly to fall in love with a smell, but the scent of his five day old sons was enough to have his heart soaring.
"Mmm they look more and more perfect every time I see them," Lucius sighed sounding so content that Harry couldn't help his own smile.
"Even at one o'clock in the morning?"
"They woke you up? I thought that I had managed to get the silencing around the bed in time," Lucius asked concerned.
"The bed was cold without you, I reached out and realised that you weren't here," Harry smiled shaking his head. "We had better get up,"
"Do we have to, I want to stay here forever," Lucius actually whined.
"Well as interesting as that sounds, we might hear some complaints once they hit puberty," Harry laughed.
"I suppose," Lucius sounded so put upon Harry could not hold in his laughter.
"There are my perfect little brothers, there they are," Draco beamed when Lucius and Harry walking into the dinning room with the babies fast asleep in their arms. Harry smiled fondly when the blonde hurried over, and then was hit with the decision of which baby to take.
He looked up when he pressed Maddock into Draco's arms and started putting together his and Lucius breakfast plates to see Severus blinking at the babies with the same shocked and slightly awed expression he always seemed to wear when faced with them. He couldn't seem to get his head around the fact that they had wanted his name to be Killian's middle name.
"Ok there Severus?" Harry asked slightly amused.
"What huh? Yes, no..its fine," Severus stammered blushing. Lucius gave him a small scolding look, though his eyes were glittering with amusement.
Harry looked around the table to see who their guests were today, his family had been sneaking over a couple a day to spend time with the babies and him, today it was Bill and Charlie, though Charlie was busy trying not to nod off into his porridge while Bill was busy flirting with Marcus who was battling to stay cool and not blush.
He looked over to watch Lucius and Draco cooing at the babies in their arms as he finished putting their plates together and set one in front Lucius and the other himself. He and Lucius had quickly aquired the skill of eating one handed while they held a baby in their other arm, it was apparently something that came with learning to battle mild sleep deprivation, especially when Lucius had the bad habit of randomly waking up to poke the babies because he was worried they weren't breathing.
The last few days had been so lovely and peaceful, and he had ever been more content in his whole life, he loved Lucius more and more with every day, especially seeing him with their sons, and his babies, his beautiful sons were more perfect than he had ever imagined. He had family cared around him. He settled down to enjoy his breakfast and just soak up the feeling of his family around him.
