so.. this is it, huh?

fawn walked into the college she would be attending for the next two to four years because she wanted to earn her degree in music and take her talents to bigger horizons.. greendale community college. she was only here because there was this bald man she's been oddly running into lately that kept shoving how good this college was in her face, so she thought, "fuck it. let's see what this brings."

see, fawn allen is your regular girl in her early 20s.. young, starting adulthood and still navigating the world around her. she didn't think she was anything too special. sure, she can admit that she's a good looking person with a nice style and a knack for making music, but other than that she's no goddess or anything.

fawn is a person with a love for music that is deeper than the average. she can probably recite whatever song you request to her without any hiccups along the way. she's like a human jukebox. fawn is in an amateur band with her two childhood friends (and roommates) called 'girls of the century'. they make more chilled out pop music that you'll probably hear at a local bar and think, "hmm who is this band? they sound alright."

since this is her first official college experience, fawn wanted to be at the top of her game.. but if she doesn't succeed at that, then she still wanted to be a good student.

she pulled her schedule out of her bag to read what classes she had for the semester. that got interrupted when someone yelled, "attention, greendale students!" fawn looked up and it was the bald guy she's been seeing more than often these days.

'woah.' she thought.

"i see you guys have made it to the fall semester. congratulations! for returning students, welcome back. and for new students, we hope you enjoy your time at greendale."

he cleared his throat as he continued, "i'm dean pelton, and for all the hot singles out there, i'm just craig." he winked and laughed nervously as he adjusted his tie.

what the-

"everyone make sure to enjoy your time here at greendale community college, the home of those with dreams and aspirations. we care for you. let's stick it to that city college across town. whoo! go, human beings!" he got off the podium and spotted fawn almost immediately.

dean pelton came up to her and said, "ahhh. i'm glad you've made the decision to fulfill your dreams." he touched her shoulder.

"yeah." fawn replied. "me too." she awkwardly grinned at him.

wow, he is a very upbeat man. a bit of an oddball already, but hey. it's nice to see some enthusiasm sometimes.

"correct me if i'm wrong, but have i seen you somewhere?" he smirked.

"yes. you've seen me a bunch of times.. and it always seemed to be at the same place, which is just outside the mall."

"oh- whatttt? really? i mean, pfft. it's not like i was waiting for the perfect chance to get to you so i can talk to you about how much greendale has impacted lives." he nervously chuckled. "totally wasn't stalking you, girlfriend."

"yeah.. sure you weren't."

"you know what? let's talk in my office, shall we?"

fawn and dean pelton walked into his office. he gestured for her to have a seat on one of the chairs facing his desk as he sat down at his desk chair.

"soooo, tell me." dean started. "what made you really  wanna go to greendale? was it my persistence? perhaps my boyish charm? was it my aura? cause you know there are a few people who would stop me and say, 'you know, i know i don't know you, but-'"

"no, no, no." fawn said before he went off rambling. "sorry to break it to you, but it wasn't any of that. i just wanted to see how this whole education and college experience thing would work for me knowing how much a degree would mean for my future music career."

"oh, you're a musician.. you don't say." he leaned in a little as he bit on the pen he was using.

"sir, i think you knew that." fawn lightly laughed. "you've been following me, and my band.. but mostly me around every once in a while."

"okay, you got me there. guilty as charged." he said as he jokingly put his hands up in surrender.

"but hey. i've got a question for you."

"ask away."

"why did you choose to follow me around out of all people? what made you want to choose me to come here at greendale?"

"ah, you silly goose, you. it's because i see the potential you have. you and your girls sound great, but you gals would be greater if you were musicians with degrees, am i right?"

"i mean yeah that would be nice and all, but would it even matter if i got it from a community college?"

"ah, don't dabble in on the bad talk, fawn. greendale has got you covered because you," he reached from over his desk to cup her face in his hands. fawn looked at him confused. "matter."

"thank you?" fawn replied. "may you um-"

"why, yes! of course!" dean said as he let go of her face. "my, you have such soft skin. anyways, i won't let you in here for too long. i will look forward to seeing you veeeery often, though. bye bye now." he waved at her.

fawn got up from the chair and left so she can go to her first class of the day.

why do i feel stoned from just talking to that man?
