it's been a few days since she made that deal with jeff in the study room, and fawn finally decided to stop being so close-minded and just talk to the boy. to her surprise, vicki had a good talk with her within that passing time about how nice troy was. the gut feeling of skepticism was about to fill fawn's brain, but who is she to think her own friend would lie to her face like that?

the universe must've been working overtime to make things happen between troy and fawn because as if on cue, she spotted him about to walk past her as she sat at one of the benches outside.

here we go.

fawn took a deep breath. "hi." she said to troy, causing him to stop in his tracks.

"h-hi, fawn. how have things been with you?" he seemed a bit nervous.

"good, and you?"

"just fine, thanks. do you mind if i," he paused to look at the empty space next to her then back at her.

"be my guest." fawn grinned.

troy sat next to her, shifting his position a few times due to him feeling nervous.

although he has been anticipating for the day him and fawn spoke, troy never planned out what he was gonna say to her.

his heart is beating fast as the silence between them makes it slightly worse. "so, uh. how do you like greendale so far?"

"you're starting to sound like the dean." she chuckled a bit. "i like it here, though. the feel of it is very welcoming and i like how this school is accepting of pretty much everybody."

"wanna save that for the newspaper?"

"ohh. i see you've got jokes now." they shared a good laugh together. this made troy start to feel more comfortable around her.

"hey, i try." he responded.

"so, troy. tell me." he looked at fawn. "what is your absolute favorite part about greendale? is it the people? is it the classes you would've never thought existed? is it the unpredictability of the chaos that for sure will happen in these next few hours? speak into the mic."

she balled up her hand into a fist and put it near troy's mouth.

"well, i'm glad you asked. all of those questions were lovely, but i would have to go with the unpredictability. it's not every day you get pure chaos in a community college. who knows? the library could possibly be on fire right now because someone thought it'd be a smart idea to find the most flammable thing near them and put our beloved school at risk for the hell of it." he playfully scoffed. "kids these days. they can just be so rotten, can't they?"

fawn let out a good laugh due to what he said.

"you're pretty funny. anyways, have you got started on this week's diorama for anthropology?"

"nope. not at all. can't he give us something else to do?"

"i know, right?"

"so what do you like to do for fun?

"i like music, whether it's making some of my own with my girls or simply listening to it. other than that, my life isn't all that interesting."

"oh, come on. i bet it is." troy nudged her.

"i promise you it's not."

"how could it not be? you seem really cool." he looked at her with such a genuine look in his eyes. fawn could see that, but what she couldn't see was his heart stopping for a second to admire her.

"oh. um," fawn looked down a bit, flattered by what he said. "thank you. i can ay the same about you." now it was her turn to nudge him back. she spoke again, "soooo what do you like to do, mister?"
