Danganronpa IF is a light novel by Ryougo Narita, it is an entirely different plot with many different events somewhat very different from the events that occur in the game.
It explores what would have happened if Makoto Naegi found the exit button in the Monomono Machine that helped him regain his memories at the beginning of them game.
I won't spoil it for anyone that wants to read it for themselves!
