"Free will, a blessing or a curse?" Brick wondered as he looked at the door, he taps his finger down on the table. Suddenly, something clicked within his brain, a sort of idea, or reminder of sorts. Brick closed his eyes, he saw noa everything. As he saw into it he saw them, his own.
Friends and families together rejoicing in their lives at peace in their home worlds or in Merg. Brick slams his fist down on the chair, almost in anger.
He began to shake, shaking more and more. A thought came to his head, The Destruction of all.
"Brick?" The door opens, Brick looking up suddenly as he sees his wife, Christina entering the room.
"Huh-?" Brick says.
"Well that's a bit.. unexpected- usually you expected me from a while ago to come in here." Christina says.
"Oh just something.. yeah." Brick says.
Christina sighs, she sits on the arm rest of the chair and she lays her body down on top of Brick's lap, "Tired.. aren't you- oh wait.. you never get tired do you?" She says.
"You got that right, and I sort of view it as a blessing."
"I'd view it as a curse, you can't ever really rest of get the satisfaction of rest.. but you do you." She says, laying there on his lap.
"So you came here for... Oh- that's right."
"Looks like you know.. hah." Christina hugs Brick, "Just some time, together. Is that alright?" She says, she puts her hands around his neck, "You're really tense.. why is that?" She asks.
"Tense?" He replies.
She feels his neck, rubbing her fingers around it. She felt something was wrong as she felt his neck and body, "You seem.. strange." She says.
"I'm fine-"
"Are you?" She looks up at his eyes.
"I- I am."
She looks deep into his eyes, "Know that if something's wrong than tell me please. Remember you're not alone, you have me and even your son Brice with you." She says.
Brick grips onto her body, "I'll tell you. But.. don't tell anybody else, not even Brice."
"What is it?" She looks up at him, slightly unnerved by hearing him be so cautious in his way of speaking.
"I've been seeing things lately that randomly appear, messages from a external being. And it's something that.. I don't know."
Her eyes widen, "But how could that be possible?"
"Whatever it is.. it wants something, it has a goal and I don't know what it is or how it's trying to achieve it. It's completely unknown, it's intelligence is.. I can't even begin to describe it. But I also feel as if something is missing inside me, something big, and maybe.. it's tied to this being in whatever it is."
"What're you going to do?" She asks.
"There's nothing I think I can do but wait and see where it leads to. The more I wait the more common it gets. But.. do I think I can handle it.. I may be." He says.
"Maybe- so it works outside anything we've even been able to think of?"
"Yes, and I just don't.. understand it." Brick says, unsure almost about what this thing could've been. Suddenly lightning thunders down outside, Brick opens his eyes and he turns around at an instant. Four large middle like objects come soaring at him, at a instant the missiles are closed in and exploded within the bubble that Brick made, "Someone's attacking. And I may know who it is.." Brick says, looking outside behind.
