Purple Flower

Even in the dust covered, blood spilt earth
Where screams still echo off the mountains and in the valleys
Cracks in the ground grow larger and the pits form
A place no one dares wonder any longer
For fear of death or worse
Eternal damnation for even stepping on the cursed ground
Where as far as the eye can see darkness had taken hold
Something so beautiful could bloom
Something so pure, with colours so bright
That this small planet could harbor a piece of innocence
For the soil still held the nurturance to sustain life
But no one took the time to plow away the grim
It only takes one to start a change and soon it would spread
Until it reached each corner of this earth
Until they knew its name and how it worked
Till all the universe looked upon us with a smile and said
"If even they can change so can we"
Where are those days?
When I thought that we could ever change
When hope was fresh and alive
Now I hold this wilted flower in my hand
I know the truth
We will never change
Never be more than what we are right now
Humanity is dying
And I was wrong
