Alta's point of view

¤ Monday, September 12 ¤

A week has passed since the incident in Harry's dorm. I heard he was still in the hospital wing, still unconscious. I hadn't gone to see him. I didn't want to and I didn't care anymore about protecting his secrets. I had enough of all these lies and abuses. I was done.

Besides, Enzo and Lenora had insisted and helped me to tell our other friends about everything. They now knew I wasn't Harry's soulmate and that the abuses were worse than they thought. To say they were pissed was an understatement. They were ready to run off to the hospital wing to actually kill him.

Luckily, I managed to hold them back, promising them we would ruin them in time. The boys had required I had someone by my side at all times. Delphini was with me at night but we all knew Harry's friends, Albus or even Harry himself would try to corner me at some point. I hadn't had a moment alone in a whole week, but in a way, I was grateful for that.

Hermione and Ron had tried to talk to me a few times, wondering why I wasn't visiting my lovely boyfriend who was suffering. Thanks to my friends, I hadn't been forced to answer them. Albus had called for me in his office as well but I also ignored him. He wasn't allowed in the house's common rooms or dorms and he couldn't force me in front of the whole school because it would expose him.

As for Mattheo, I had refused to talk to him ever since I walked away from him a week ago. He tried, but I completely ignored him. I knew he was hurt and pissed, and as twisted as it was, I enjoyed it. He deserved it. But not talking to him didn't mean I wasn't observing him when we were in the same room. I saw how he rejected the girls who would flirt with him. I noticed how he looked hungover every morning. Whether our friends noticed or not, I didn't know. No one said anything. Only Delphini looked at him disappointedly. I supposed she knew him too well to not notice.

I hadn't told the others about what had happened between us. I had made Enzo, Lenora and Delphini promise to not say anything. I was mad at him and I wanted him to suffer a little, but it was our issue. Dragging our friends in it would have caused more problems and I didn't want that. He was still my soulmate and I knew I would forgive him at some point. I just needed time. And a little revenge.

I snapped out of my thoughts as Pansy slid the book she was reading in my direction. My green eyes flew over the words on the pages before I pinched my lips in a thin line and frowned. We had been trying to find answers on the black smoke I had started to form but so far, we had no luck. But what Pansy had just found was interesting. Lilith.
