Remy was your run of the mill loner.
Never had many friends growing up.
Getting into college didn't even help her out with that. She was okay with roaming around on her own too. No one to wait around for or to be dragged down with.
She had developed this sense of 'every man for himself' overtime but not in a weird, bitchy, high-school way.
It was all more of a "you don't mess with me, I don't mess with you" kind of way; even when "you mess with me, I am not going to retaliate back".While most of the people in her class enjoyed coming to class everyday & getting together with their respective cliques; for Remy every morning proved to be another nail in the coffin of getting it over & done with ordeal.
She woke up every morning, reminding herself that it'll be over soon. Finally be done with every morning's feet dragging & find a place for herself in this world.
A place, where she belongs. Where she'll have friends too. Friends who'll be able to accept her for all the quirks she has.In class, in almost all the classes; Remy tried to make herself as invisible as she could by taking the corner back seat even if she was the first one in.
She could see all the people in the class by sitting there & nobody usually noticed that she was there. It had become more like a hobby sitting in her corner & watching everyone. Observing all the various cliques & the animated activities happening.
When you're alone for a long time, it stops feeling lonely & you move through time without even noticing.
Something like that had started happening to Remy too. She liked observing one clique's behavioural habits in particular. The reason why this clique fascinated Remy so much wasn't clear but she had actually even tried going up to them & talking. Gathering up the courage & breaking out of her shell wasn't necessarily an easy job but at least she tried. They shunned her nonetheless, is whole another story.
Maybe it was Cheryl.
