I gasped awake, heavy sweats running down my face and breaths escaped my lips as I was pulled back to reality from the nightmare I just have. Tears streaming down my face as the image of my father was still vivid in my mind.
Father..
Looking around, I found myself all alone in the room, with Rixelle placed the now pealed apples right beside me in the desk,
I held a hand to wipe my tears away, trying to convince myself that it was just a bad dream, nothing to be worred about. After that, I placed my hand on the pendant I was wearing around my neck and carefully removed it. Memories on how I got it made me curled up a small smile despite of everything. It was a gift from my Dad on my last birthday. My fingers slowly clicked it open, showing a picture of my mother on the right and my father on the left. I softened my gaze upon the image of my parents before me, now without the two of them.. Where will I go? Both of them is nowhere to be found. I hate to admit this but, I never had the chance to know what type of occupation father is working for.
The wind blew against my brunette hair through the open window, I broke my glance at the pendant to see a black cat sitting on a tree branch just outside the window and looking straight at me while licking its paws. I waved at it like a lonely sucker I was as it jumped in and pounced into my bed, causing me to gasped in surprised as it snatched my pendant by its mouth and hopped into the railing of the window.
"Hey! Bad kitty! Get back here!" I shouted and quickly stood up with a bit of struggle as I set myself out of the bed and into the feline, yet it only caused it to jumped out of the window. My eyes widened as it did, scurrying over and leaning towards the window to look down.
I was relieved to see the cat alright, however I failed to retrieve my pendant back from the stupid cat. I sighed, there's only one way to get it back to me without the nurse dragging me back to bed.
Taking a deep breath, I looked down once more and noticed that I was on the 3rd floor of the building hospital, then at the tall large tree that I saw before. It wasn't far off reach to the window, in fact, it was pretty much reachable and the branches would make a good ladder down. I think.Reaching a hand out to one of the branch, I carefully held my hospital gown as I set a foot into the branch. This is stupid, but this is the fastest way I can think of to get down there and to catch that stupid cat. I don't want to loose something so valuable to me. The pendant is priceless to me.
Finally, I reached the trunk and held into it for dear life, another foot stepping down and reaching for the nearest branch that could support my weight as my hand grasped onto another for support .
Step after step and by repeating the process multiple times, I had successfully set myself on the hard ground without causing any attention of being in trouble.
Now to find that cat.
As long as I can remember, it had turned into a corner where it leads to the back of the hospital. I quickly dragged my feet into there, making sure to keep myself a low profile as I eventually reached the destination, my sight in search for the cuddly creature.
A loud,"Aha!" was emitted from me as I saw it, feeling a little relieved that the cat still got a hold of the pendant. I slowly took straight steady steps towards it, trying my best to not scare it away this time but failed miserably. It began to walk towards a a young man, leaning against the wall of the building, only noticing him now that he was gesturing the cat over him.
He wore a black long sleeves, with a red tie hanging loose around his neck, pairing it with a dark jeans and his azure eyes looking down upon my pendant when the cat let go of it on its palm. The man had a stoic face and his jet black hair almost covering his eyes when he glanced down.
He didn't seem to be bothered by my presence at all when the feline crawled up and rested upon his shoulder, he just remained calm and undisturbed ,or he was just ignoring me at all. Who knows, I didn't know this guy.
Soon, my bare feet had left the bed of grass as I took a step forward in the cold dirty ground, my gaze glued against the guy and the my possession in his hand as I gave him a perplexed expression.
"Is that your cat?" I asked, breaking the silence as I advanced another feet forward. This caused the man to break his attention at the pendant, yet he simply stared at me with a blank face as if he had been bored for all his life. He nodded in response, opening the pendant as he went back on looking at it.
"Well, your cat over there snatched something from me."I crossed my arms under my chest, a little annoyed at the short response I received from the other. "And don't you think it's a little rude for you to open other people's possession stolen by your cat?" I raised an eyebrow, soon ending up standing just beside him and offered my hand in an inviting manner.
The black haired guy looked at me with a deadpan expression then down at my hand , his grip still held upon the pendant.
"What?"
"Give it back!" I yelled, sending an arm to yanked it off of his grip. He kept his stoic face, yet I can feel the smirk slowly forming upon his face as he dashed his hand upward, shaking his head no.
"Who were these in the photo?" He asked as I leaned onto him, on my tipy toes as my hand reached for it. "Why on earth would it even matter to a thief like you?" I spat and he gave a chuckle, tossing the pendant right in front of me. I gasped at this, my eyes widening slightly as I immediately got off of him and followed its fall, fortunately, my reflexes were fast enough to successfully catch it with my hands.
His expression turned a little bothered or more like disgusted. "A thief, huh? Well, thanks to that old geezer, your hot ass is saved since I don't get to consume you for dinner for insulting me."
Hot what? I turned to looked at him with confused expression, his words didn't seem to make any sense. "You consume what for dinner..?" Honestly, it was quite funny and ridiculous to see someone say something like that with a straight up serious and annoyed look.
The guy with the cat on his shoulder simply gave a shrugged and rolled his eyes, mumbling out the word, "Idiot. " before walking on his way out of the small alley.
I was left alone with all the confusions in my head, that was when someone called out to me and I looked up at the window with the doctor waving over me.
"Hey! You there! Get back to your room!"
Shouted the doctor down at me as I gave one last glance at the man, but when I did, he was nowhere to be found and only black feathers floating around and scattered down the ground.Where did these come from?
