I quickly put the key in the safe and it opens. I look at what's inside. A little folded piece of paper. I take it out and put the safe down. I glance at Watson who nods and then I open the piece of paper. 29. That's the number. It must be for a safe deposit box. I put the paper in my pocket and look back into the box. The phone. The new phone. I take it out of the box and turn it on. No password. I open the phone. There are a couple apps. Camera, Messages, Maps and Google. I open the messages. There is only one number. It's anonymous but I know who it is. I type something and send it.
{I got your package}
Typing. She writes something.
{And the phone I see. Good. I can't lose contact with you. -NR}
I sigh. It's Tuesday. I still have four days until the deadline. I can do this. I grab my coat and look at Watson. "Are you coming?" I ask. Watson grabs his jacket and outs it on. I nod and walk out onto the streets. I call a cab and me and Watson get in. I tell him to go to the main bank. "There are a lot of banks in London. How are we supposed to know which one it is?" Watson asks me. I pause. He's right. Of course he's right. I swear under my breath as we start to drive towards the main bank in London. "I guess we'll have to go to every bank. Ask if we could see the safe deposit box." I say. Watson nods. We sit in silence. After a couple minutes we stopped and were now at the bank. I get out and stand waiting for Watson. He gets out and we walk over to the front of the main bank. I take a deep breath. I can do this. We walk in. Its a large building with stone pillars and a counter in the middle. I walk over. "Hello, Do you have a safe deposit box with the number 29?" I ask the man at the counter. The man nods, "Could you tell me your name sir. I have to make sure you're allowed to see this." he says. I nod, "Sherlock Holmes." The man goes through a booklet and then stops at number 29 and runs his finger down the names. There are only two. My name and a different one. Amanda Smith. I turn to Watson and asks if he has a pen. For some reason he does and he gives it to me. I take out the piece of paper with the number on it and write down that name. I quickly gave back the pen to Watson and put the paper in my coat pocket. The man at the counter looked at me. "Ill be right back" he says as he puts the booklet down and walks out of the room. I nod and look at Watson. He's looking down. I put my hand on his shoulder. "It's okay. We already have the first clue done and the second one is almost finished. We can do this." I reassured him. He keeps staring down. I know hes terrified when he won't talk. I stay beside him. After a while of standing there in silence the man comes back. He places a box on the counter in front of us. "Here you go sir. Have a pleasant day." he says. I nod and thank him before grabbing the box. Watson looks up at me and walks with me as we walk out. He isn't talking until we get out of the bank and into a cab. In the cab I told the driver to go to our flat. He starts driving. I look at Watson. Hes staring out the window. He hasn't talked for a while. I'm concerned. I look out the window. I have to solve this. Not just for London but for Watson. I put my hand in my pocket. Dang it. I left the phone at my flat. I then look at the box in my other hand. It has a simple lock where you need those cube locks but there isn't one. Just the flap to keep it closed. I flip the flap up. I slowly open the box and see a note. Confused, I took the note out and read it.
Congrats. You have completed my second puzzle. If you want to get the next puzzle text me. -NR
I sigh. Only one more. I close the box and put the note in my coat pocket. I glance at Watson who hasn't moved since i last looked at him. After a couple seconds we stop and I get out, I walk over to the sidewalk and make sure Watson is also coming. He is. I walk inside and take off my coat. I hanged up my coat and put the box on the table. I picked up the phone and opened messages. I write something. I stopped. Then send it.
{I found your box. What's next?}
Nothing. No typing. No read. Nothing. I pause. Usually she answers quickly. Usually. I sit down in my chair. Watson has already hung up his jacket. "Holmes. I don't like this. Why would she do all this just for you." he says quietly as he sits down in his chair. I look down. I know. I know why but I can't tell him. I can't. I take a deep breath. "I don't know Watson...I don't know."
