The only time I've left my room in the last two weeks is to go to work. I avoid Marcell at all costs, walking the other direction if I hear his footsteps in the corridor.
I was told that he was away on a work trip, he wasn't going to be home for a week, maybe longer. That was two weeks ago. That was the night we fought and I was beginning to grow slightly worried for him.
Anyway, me and Maurie decided to have a movie night in my room. I didn't want to go downstairs just in case he comes home or something.
"Maurie, did you tell Marcell about what we talked about?" I asked softly, looking over at her for a moment.
"No sweetheart, I only mentioned the articles, and I'm sorry I did. I heard you guys fighting later that night," she apologised. I nod my head.
"It's okay, you were only trying to help. I appreciate the efforts," I smiled. She nodded her head, sighing.
"You know, Mr Drakov isn't a bad person," she mumbled.
"I never said he was," she hums in response.
"It's getting late sweetheart. You need rest," she smiled. She turned off the tv, getting off my bed.
"Goodnight Sweetheart. If you need anything I'm downstairs with Albert," she smiles. I nod my head.
"Goodnight Maurie," I reply. She leaves the room, closing the door. I get under the covers properly before laying on my side, facing the glass door of the balcony. My eyes don't let me sleep. My leg is in pain today. It hurts like knives stabbing in and out.
I've taken some pain medication, I just have to wait for it to kick in.
After around thirty minutes, I start to feel a little drowsy and the pain begins to subside.
The silhouette.
The tall dark silhouette is back.
I rub my eyes but it didn't go away. I'm too scared to get out of bed. I stare and stare at it but it doesn't go away. And then I hear the door creak open slightly which sent me jumping out of my bed.
"MAURIE," I shout, getting out of my bed. I speed walk to the door, throwing it open and walking down the hall.
"Sweetheart what's wrong?" She asked, very alarmed. I sputter out some nonsense before leading her to my room.
"Someone is watching me from my the balcony," I panted. She stares at me confused before calling Albert up.
"There's someone on the balcony," I say. I swear to god there was someone there.
Albert walks into my room, me and Maurie behind him. He checks the balcony, every corner of my room but doesn't find anyone.
"There's no one here," he says. I shake my head.
"There is someone, they were staring at me," I tried to get them to believe me but they didn't know what to think.
"Sweetheart did you take your pain medication?" Maurie asks. I nod my head slightly, rubbing my eyes.
"You know very well that sometimes it gives you hallucinations, that's why you don't take it very often. It might've just been a hallucination," she says softly, putting her hand on my arm. I slowly nod in defeat.
Maybe I'm going crazy.
"But I can't sleep in here anymore. Not in any room. I'm just going to sleep on the couch," I mumbled. Maurie nodded a little before helping me downstairs.
I lay down in the couch, pulling the covers up slightly. Maurie leaves, turning off the lights.
It's quiet. It's dark but there's the moonlight illuminating the room. It's peaceful.
