She tried to control herself as fear began to come over her.
She took some time, but not too much time, to steady her breathing and to calm herself.
Once that was managed, she resumed walking in the darkness.
She tried to take her mind off of the dimming light of the flashlight, by staring at her feet. After several failed attempts, she took in her surroundings.
She wasn't surprised to see tons of very similar looking trees all around her, but something was wrong. She couldn't figure out why, but she just knew that she had been here before.
She tried to convince herself that she was just imagining things, but she realized that wasn't the case when she saw the bathrooms again.
She just barely managed to hold in the screams that filled her whole being with the terror.
She ran as fast as her little legs could carry her, running for about 4 seconds off and on. (I spammed the shift key, which makes you run, freaked me out coming back to the same area, I thought Slenderman would find me.)
She hurried past the rusted tankers and out of the large clearing. She had never been more happy to see trees in her life.
She slowly collapsed against the side of a tree from exhaustion, glad for the safety enclosure of the trees.
She took out the 4 pieces of paper she had found, looking them over. Her eyes widened as she realized the situation she was in.
She had combined all of her knowledge she had learned so far from watching TV, and thought that if she didn't collect all 8 of the pages before the person caught her something bad would happen to her.
She was still full of fear, but she tried to push that aside and to gather the confidence she needed. She didn't completely manage this, but she was able to get herself moving again.
She ignored the sweat on her forehead and her aching arms and legs, and continued into the forest of trees.
She went in the completely opposite direction that she had gone before.
Sometime later she somehow forgot her fear and was determined to find the last 4 sheets of paper.
She came across the 5th piece of paper, it was perched on top of a huge jagged rock.
She climbed the rock and grabbed the page. On her way down, she managed to get her right arm sliced open on a sharp point of the rock.
I can't get scared again, she thought, ignoring the cut and the page.
She walked away from the rock while she put the page away. It was impossible to see her reaction to the cut and the terror of the person who was out to get her on her face, all that was there was the strong determination to survive.
