I wrote this because it made me think of my life, where it'll lead me, but as I read this poem again on and on, I see myself having alot of realization about the life I'm living.

"CROSSING THE BAR"

What did this poem meant to me?

I feel like I've finally had my eyes opened now, for what? for death.

I've never really thought about death, at some point of time I would see myself breaking down, or harming myself.

But I never thought this poem could give a realization.

I've had it all in my head, line by line, and hits me like a fallen rock whenever I think of it.

"Sunset and Evening star"

What did I think of this line?

It felt like as if it's symbolizing that the light is about to fade, that the life you live is coming to an end.

"And may there be moaning of the bar, When I put out to the sea."

It makes me think about a person not wanting their death to be remembered as a sorrowful, painful, hurtful one.

That the death that person wanted was a peaceful farewell with no mourns of people that screams for his death.

"But such a tide as moving seems asleep, Too full for sound and foam"

The person just wants a smooth sail, a peaceful one on the boat that he sails until he's there. once he feels the high tide once no one stops him from it, and sail sail sail. until he crosses the bar.

"When that which drew from out the boundless deep."

"Turns again home"

What did the home mean?

For me, I think of it as him coming once again to a place of eternal significance, a place his soul longs for he
wishes to be home again.

"Twilight and Evening bell"

The barrier is now there, Is he now crossing it? he almost sees it. this line. is he symbolizing about his own impending death?

"And after that the dark!"

What was the darkness he meant? : )

"And may there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark;"

May there be no fear, no pain, no sadness when he flies away with the wind, when he's the one who'll be a color with the skies.

"For tho' From out our bourne and place the flood may bear me far."

"I hope to see my pilot face to face."
"When I have crossed the bar"

Who was he referring to?

A Divine, Unseen, Who's always guiding us.

God. His real home, heaven.

He longs to see the one who created him as a whole. who gave him a life dearly.

God. He wishes to see him, when his life turns to death, when he has now crossed the bar.

Everything will sink in.

I'll find myself in this position in life aswell, But I don't want fly away yet.

Maybe soon, maybe. maybe when I'm ready, Maybe when the time comes, I'll be able to relate myself to this poem.
