Mrs. Grey?
My subconscious spoke once the caller ID sunk in me. I looked over to Brianna who's currently watching in confusion. She mumbled something like 'who's that?' Before I took the short chance to walk over her and pressed my lips on her forehead ever so gently. A warm smile tug at her lips and hugged around my torso. "Your mum, I'll just talk to her a'right?" I said and her eyes widened before nodding.
My thumb pressed on the screen and picked up. "Hello, Mrs. Grey." I greeted as nice as I could, annoyance taking over me.
"Hello, Mr. Styles. I was just wondering where my daughter is, she's not answering or texting us back. Have you seen her?" She asked, worry evident in her tone. I tugged at the roots of my hair and groaned in a low sound, Brianna's hands rubbing up and down my chest. "Um, yes, ma'am. She's here, and I'm sorry for not telling you that she wouldn't be able to go home. I got her excused from school for a day so she could help me take care of my kids." I explained in the best way I could, looking at the beautiful girl staring up at me.
"Oh! Thank God she's safe. It's alright, was just worried. Is she behaving well?" She chuckled as I continued to hold Brianna's gaze. My fingers raked across her scalp which made her purr and lean on my chest, a smirk invading my lips.
"She's a good girl, Mrs. Grey. You have nothing to worry about. Do you want to talk to her?"
"Oh no no no no no! It's fine Mr. Styles. I'll get going then." Says Brianna's mum.
"Thank you for understanding, ma'am. Bye." I said gently.
"Bye!" She chimed cheerfully before hanging up. I sighed and set my phone aside, going back to Brianna and taking a quick glance at the twins. Luckily, they didn't see any display of affection Brianna and I shared. "What did mum say?" Brianna quizzed, making sure her voice is low so the kids won't get distracted.
"She just asked about you, hun. Don't worry." I winked and blush crept on her cheeks. She let out a sigh in relief and smiled at me. "I think we should get food for all of us, don't you think sweetheart?" I offered, my hand slowly traveling down to her a.ss, giving it a light squeeze in which she yelped and jumped towards me. "That'd be great, I think. I'm still starving. Guess the meal I prepared wasn't enough." She giggled lowly while rubbing her tummy playfully. I could imagine her having a baby inside.
Oh my God, what am I even thinking.
"Babe," she called for me again as I tapped on my phone, "Maybe let me pay for it this time?"
"No, kitten." I chuckled and she rolled her eyes in defeat. Groaning, I snaked an arm around her waist then pulled her closer to me. "C'mon, love. I haven't paid you yet so you better save it alright? It's just McDonald's so..." I trailed off just as I pressed my lips on her forehead gently. Her lips tugged into a smile against my bare chest, small arms clinging around my torso. "Since it's my favorite, alright Mr. Styles." She smirked and played with my curls.
Just as I was about to kiss her, I heard a few heavy footsteps towards our direction. "Daddy! I'm still hungry. I want snacks." Hailey whines, hugging on my leg tightly. Low chuckles escaped my lips and placed my hand on her head to ruffle her messy hair. And then, Harper came into sight and raised his arms while looking up at Brianna, a clue for her to carry him. "Me too, Daddy. I'm sure mummy is as well." He giggles as Brianna lifted him up before facing me a bit. Seeing the three of the people I cared about brightens my day and lightens up my mood. To be really honest, I know longer know if Sandrine's still important to me. Just had to go with the flow. I gave all of them kisses on the temple before stepping back. "Okay children, what do you want for snacks? Gonna call McDonald's." I asked with a grin, followed by laughs from the three.
