The door swung open and I saw him scanning the place for me, I waved him over. I saw him gasping for breath but relaxing the closer he got to my table, he slid into the chair across from me and looked deep in my eyes, searching for anything wrong.

    “Are you okay?” He asked.

“Yeah… I’m fine…” Truth be told I was terrified. I physically couldn’t relax, my right thigh is gonna be really toned soon because it hasn't stopped shaking since I got here.  His hand slipped under the table and he rested it on my leg, giving me a comforting squeeze.

“Hey it’s okay.” He rubbed my thigh trying to be comforting and with his other hand laced his fingers with mine.”You’re not alone anymore, I’m right here.”

I slowly stopped shaking and hunched over the table. My tears were coming fast and I was fighting desperately to not cry in public

“C’mon.” He said getting up from his seat and leaving a twenty on the table.”I’ll take you home.” I stood and we walked out together. Once we were in the street he threw a comforting arm over my shoulder and we walked the entire way to his house like that. Huddled together, one of us asking for security and the other complying more than willingly.

“Thank you Chris.” I leaned into him so much I could smell chlorine from the pool yesterday and the cologne he put on to try and cover it.

“Of course.” He responded by hugging me closer to him.

“What  would I do without you?” I mused.

“I’ll always be here for you Y/n. Remember that.”

“Okay.”
