A Week Later

I was fed up. My phone was non-stop, Instagram, Tiktok, hell somehow even my Pinterest. I turned my notifications off and opened up Spotify clicking my On Repeats and making sure my earbuds were connected.

I left a note on the counter and stepped out of my house taking a walk down the street. I know it’s stupid but I’m not thinking clearly I just need some space. I trudge down the street music blaring tears threatening to burst.

A hand covers my mouth with a rag. I try to scream but it’s muffled by the thick fabric.

The world went black.

Chris  POV

I slipped in the house behind Matt and made sure to shut the door solidly. The kitchen was empty save for a slip of paper, so I grabbed a Pepsi from the fridge and plucked it from the counter top.

    Hey Loves,
I’m going for a walk. I'll be back in a little while.
If I’m not back by tomorrow morning you can panic.
    Kisses !

I smiled at the silly little message and went up to bed.

    The Next Morning

The sun was bright in my eyes, beaming through a gap in my navy blackout curtains. I squinted and fumbled around on my bedside table to find my phone. It blinked the time at me and I jolted.

Shit. I thought. 11:30 c’mon man. I scolded myself. I crept down the hall to the guest room where Y/n usually stays. I pushed the cracked door open to find an empty, made, bed. I nearly flew down the steps. Nick and Matt were watching cartoons on the couch.

“Hey have you seen Y/n?” Nick asked me. My fear swelled.

“No, that's what I was gonna ask you.” I said.

“Shit.” Matt muttered. “I read the note last night. I was just hoping she was with you or in the guest room.” He said, running a hand through his hair.

OK now I’m in full panic mode. I click on her contact, tapping my foot impatiently for her to pick up and tell my heart to slow down. It rings twice then goes to voicemail.

“Hey lovelies! It’s Y/n. I can’t answer right now but I’ll get back to ya when I can! If it’s an emergency you probably shouldn’t be calling me in the first place.” She laughed. “Ok see you later! MWAH!” Her voicemail greeting floods my ears and causes my panic to somehow both rise and fall exponentially.

“Where could she be?” Matt asked.

“I don’t know Matt!” I shouted. Wait. I swiped frantically through my phone searching for the right app. Found it.

When we started gaining popularity that of course caused an influx of weird fan messages. Our mom made us get Life360 before then but we thought it would be a good idea to link to each other, just in case. Right now I’m thanking god that we added Y/n to the deal.  I scanned all across the city and surrounding ones. Nothing. So I went to her profile.

“FUCK!” I collapsed on the couch.

“Chris you okay man?” Matt asked. In response I just handed him the phone.

“Shit.” He sat next to me and I could tell we were thinking about that same day.

“Guys if my location is ever off please worry. I’m a woman in today's world I’ll always have my location on.” She said,

“Even if you’re with someone?” I asked.

“Especially if I’m with someone.” She said with a pointed look.

    Her location wasn’t on.

    Permission to panic now?
